“The Hope of Glory in our Soul”
Hebrews 3:6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.
1 Corinthians 3:16 ¶Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
Micah 2:13 The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the LORD on the head of them.
The Prophet Micah was a contemporary with the Prophet Isaiah and for a few years when Micah began he lived at the time of the Prophet Hosea who lived and prophesied in the nothern kingdom. Micah’s prophetic ministry was primarily near Jerusalem. It was this Prophet, who name means “He who is like Yahweh” that brought to bear the Truth of the compassion of the LORD. It is here we find of prophecies concerning the Messiah.
One such name for the Messiah, is seen here in a metaphor. We find it in Micah 2:13, where the name ‘breaker’ is used. The breaker is come up before them, Micah says. It would be the ‘breaker’ who would also be the shepherd king seen in verse twelve of that same chapter. It is here we see the Shepherd of our souls, who is king bringing back the remnant of Israel, gathering them like a shepherd does his flock. Remember, Jesus was sent to the Lost tribes of Israel! It was his fulfillment of scripture, saying in Matthew 15:25 that he was ‘not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel’. Later on we that the Messiah would extend the commission to all the world and tell the disciples in Acts 1:8 that they would be witnesses of him to all the earth. This is also one of the end time prophecies of the coming of the Messiah Jesus in Matthew, that the ‘gospel would be preached in all the world for a witness, then the end would come’.
Matthew 15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
It is the ‘breaker’ or deliverer, the one who breaks open who would bring his people into the fulfillment of the promises of God. He would destroy the works of the devil and triumph over all powers and principalities. He would gather the sheep, and bring not only Israel, and the lost Tribes unto the Father, but also the Gentiles. For in Him would be male, female, Jew, and gentile united in Him. This is one of the greatest prophecies I believe of the coming Messiah and his power to go ‘before his people’, ‘breaking open’ the way for them. They would now find blessing, peace, and joy in the Father, through the ‘breaker’, the son of God, Jesus Christ, Yeshua Ha Massiach. It is here that many of us gentiles are truly united in the hope and faith that Jesus Christ has brought to us. It is this Hope, generated and pushed on by and with our faith, that we grab hold of this promise of God and do not let go.
For it would be the Breaker who would:
- -Gather the outcasts of Israel
- Isaiah 11:12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
- -Unite Ephraim and Judah
- Ezekiel 37:19 Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand.
-Bring the Gentile Church into the Israel of God
Isaiah 56:8 The Lord GOD which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him.
1 Corinthians 8:6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
Galatians 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 6:16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.
-Judge all the nations
Isaiah 2:4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
-Judge all men
Romans 2:16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
-Judge the Church
2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
-Is the Coming Word of God, King of Kings, Lord of LORDS
Revelation 19:13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
The truth of the matter is, our LORD is the ‘breaker’ who is the deliverer. He it is who ‘breaks open before us’ and is our Salvation. We cannot lose, therefore, let us not walk in dispair, acting as if there is no Hope.
It is not about surviving, if we are ‘truly in Him, that is in all Truth, by Faith believing, walking as he did, in the light, then we have a solid fellowship. Let us then walk in the light of the one called the ‘breaker’, the LORD himself and know we will make it through what is coming. For the ‘Breaker has broke open before us’. He has made a way, he is with us, and he is faithful, even if we are not faithful.
The HOPE to the End, the Faith that possesses!
We all have hope who believe in Him who the Father has sent. It is this Hope that we must have, it is through our Faith and Hope, that we bring to bear that which God has put in us through Christ Jesus.
Hope therefore, is never inferior to faith, it is an extension to it. In these tough and perilous times, let us catch the vision of the ‘Upward call of God in Christ Jesus’ and what it means to us as followers of Jesus Christ.
Faith possesses, it never stands still, it never quits, it is a winner! Gods grace is his favor, it is by Grace, through Faith, that we are saved, those of us who believe! It is this Grace, from the Father, that divine power given to them that believe which enables them to possess and overcome!
It is our Hope that belief, that which a believer has which given proper watering by the Spirit of God and the Word of God fills our confidence in this God, even our faith in Him. Therefore we have Hope, a solid confidence that What God has promised, he will do! What God has given to us through Christ Jesus shall come to pass, and that Hope which we have in Christ Jesus shall bring us to the end and the fulfillment of it all, through our Savior, Jesus Christ. For who has promised, even God the Father, and who has done this, even God the Father who sent the Son to be the Savior of the World!
Hebrews 6:18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:
19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
1 John 4:14 ¶And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.
There is that place where those in the light, know what is going on, but there is also that place where the religiosity of men think they are safe. These are those who in religion, even following what many call Christian ways, are in truth, in darkness. They have changed the word of God and replaced it with the doctrines of men, making the word of God of none effect. These are those as well who reject the word that comes from the true prophets, watchmen, and pastors of God. These false ones, believe they are in the light, but are in darkness and deluded. They think their religion will keep them safe, even though they pervert Gods ways!
An example of this is seen in Micah 3:9-10 where Judah ignored the prophets warning. The heads of the house of Jacob, and those running things in Israel were in fact away from God. They did not judge righteously in their affairs and were building up Zion in a perverse way. They sought to build Zion up with mens blood and Jerusalem with iniquity. They were rebellious and in fact soiled Zion in blood as they fought among each other for their own greed and pride. They sough money and had a lust for money. From the heads of state to the prophets and the priests, mammon was the number one goal to obtain. They refused the prophets warning, yet they were warned of the coming judgment upon them, their carnal ways, and upon the religious house of Israel. All would be plowed like a field, and Jerusalem would become heaps. God would have the last word.
Micah 3:9 Hear this, I pray you, ye heads of the house of Jacob, and princes of the house of Israel, that abhor judgment, and pervert all equity.
10 They build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity.
11 The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? none evil can come upon us.
12 Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of the forest.
So too, we find today that many in America and around the world in both the secular and religious orders deny any judgment coming. They see global warming, economic troubles, war, and much more. But they do not see the finality of the Judgment of God upon the church and the nations. But you as a child of God, as one walking in the light, do see this!
1 Thessalonians 5:5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
6 ¶Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
It is that which we as children of light are taught. We have been justified by faith and have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. It is through this grace and faith that we stand. It is that which comes from the gospel of God, through Jesus Christ. It is that which was handed down from the LORD Jesus Christ, who received it of the Father, and gave it to the Apostles. It is through these who have given this to us, the message of the Gospel in which we believe!
Romans 5:1 ¶Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
The Message of the Gospel as it was handed down by the Apostle Paul who received this from the LORD Himself.
1 Corinthians 15:1 ¶Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.
8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.
Reproached for Christ!
Reproach: strongs 3679; mocking, ridiculing, scolding, mauling, using words angrily or sarcastically. The world will reproach us as we follow Christ.
There is no doubt scripture is full of those who have been rejected, beaten, hated, scourged, and killed for the LORD Jesus Christ and the Father whom sent him. In Acts chapter five we read of the Apostles being persecuted by those in Jerusalem for speaking in the name of Jesus. In Matthew twenty three and verse thirty seven Jesus speaks of “Israel whom stoned the prophets”. We read in Acts chapter seven of the stoning of Steven and nearby was Saul, who later became the Apostle Paul. At the time he was a Pharisee and consented unto the death of Steven, yet later God knocked Saul off his high horse and blinded him. He later came to know the LORD Jesus Christ as his Savior and LORD. In First Thessalonians the Apostle Paul speaks in chapter two of Israel who killed the Lord Jesus and their own prophets and persecuted the Apostles of the Lord as well.
The one thing for you to do is make sure you endure to the end. Having Hope, faith, and a stalwart endurance that will not let you quit, no matter what.
James 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
James 5:10 Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.
11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.
Let us consider the word endure for a moment in closing. In the strongs, it is 5278, and means to hold one’s ground in conflict, bear up against adversity, hold out under stress, stand firm, and persevere under pressure, wait calmly and courageously.
*This is not a passive resignation to fate and mere patience.!
*This is active, energetic resistance to defeat that allows calm and brave endurance!
John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
Romans 5:3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
The word Tribulation here is used of crushing grapes or olives in a press. It is known as Spiritual bench pressing. In other words, putting a lot of pressure on that which is free and unfettered. Jesus Christ set us free from the bondage of the lust in the world. We are in him free and unfettered from the power of darkness. It may come against us, but it cannot overcome us in the sense to take away our hope and crown. This can only happen if we fail to endure and give up!
Fear not them which kill the Body!
Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
You are an Overcomer, you can overcome!
Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
Receive the End of your Faith: this is your goal, the ‘salvation of your soul’!
1 Peter 1:9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
