Is the News really worth reading, watching, or spending time with? That is the question I have spent some time with over the last many years of doing what we do. Warn Radio, a preaching, teaching, warning, and advocacy agency for the persecuted church has on many occasions followed the news exclusively.
Like back in 2014 when ISIS ran through Syria and Iraq. We literally documented the major aspects of the persecution, slaughter, raping, and destruction of Libya to Iraq. But we covered these articles to bring attention to the devastation and to pinpoint areas where Christians would need help. Then there were the Yazidis and minority groups in the area; not to mention Shia who were seen as enemies of ISIS. Many wound up on ISIS hurt and destroy lists.
Today, however as I was going through my Monday morning routines of looking at hundreds and hundreds of articles and leads; I saw on MSN and then on several others a story of an Airplane pilot. I never read the story because of the lead and the picture it had. It was about a moment of self-gratification the pilot was doing and in the process filming it for the internet. A pilot was fired over it, but the pilot who was fired said it ‘was not him in that act of self-gratification’. What is more the video of it was made while the Pilot was in cockpit and supposedly flying the plane. Let us hope this was nothing but a hoax of a story.
Well that made my day, especially when I saw four different stories on it. Then there is endless political hack articles. MSN, for instance has run many, many articles on the current political race and in 90 plus percent by my own reckoning they are anti-Trump and pro-Hillary. In addition we can find that Worldnetdaily, Drudge, Hannity, Limbaugh, and a few others are siding with Trump.
