Ageless Memories | Ecc 3:1-8 There is a Time Under Heaven
Ageless Memories reminds us how short time is. When a loved one is gone, they are no longer with us. We cannot visit, acknowledge, or enjoy their presence anymore. Here is a tribute to a loved one. Included are verses from Ecclesiastes. The enclosed pictures are from my archives, dated 1952, up in the mountains, this was our friend’s cabin. Our family also had a cabin and was a place where our families would gather in this cabin. Fresh cold-water spring, high in the mountains, bears and other animals roaming, with a fresh stream flowing out of a high mountain lake.
I publish this to remind people how short of time we have on this planet. Please read and ponder your own life, lessons, discouragements, sins, and your life and family. The Lord Jesus Christ is our Hope, he is the Resurrection and the life.

Warning Nations Preparing Generations
To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: (2) A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; (3) A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; (4) A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; (5) A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; (6) A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; (7) A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; (8) A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

Ageless Memories, On the Wings Of A Dove and Mom
Ageless Memories – I can still hear her voice now. That was long before she had gotten so sick. In the morning sunlight amidst the chores of a busy housewife. The voice of my mother would ring out. She had to practice you know. For coming soon was a feature place in an evening show with a local organization. Her voice would then before a crowd sound out with pleasing chorus’s and words of a famous country classic.
Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that is thy portion in this life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun.
(Ecc 9:9) | Ageless Memories
It was that classic of Ferlin Husky, who wrote “On the Wings of a Dove” that became a classic in the 50’s to 60’s. It was not that the song was just good. Listening to mom rehearse her singing, made it come alive. The second verse which says, “when troubles surround us, when evils come, the body grows weak, the spirit grows numb, when these things beset us, He doesn’t forget us, He sends down His love, on the wings of a dove”. This became something that would come true. For mother, in a short while became very ill. It was during this time, darkness came in, and light was dim.
I was in Junior High School. My Mother could sing, raise two kids, and take care of her husband, but now was very ill. We could not see her much. For the most part, I was without a mom during this time. I helped at home. On weekends we had to drive many hours away to visit our mother. We could see her only from the car, as we peered out to the second story where we thought her room was. It was a heartbreaker for only dad was let in to see her. It seemed forever that year as the days passed without mom. My heart was sunk, my brain in a freeze, and I did not know what to do.
Moms’ illness was such that people did not know much about it. For her, a chemical shortage in the brain caused all sorts of trouble. In short, the breakdown would take time to heal. When she did come home. Mom looked swell. She seemed in good spirits but had lost lots of weight. It was then we realized that she had lost her voice. After the illness the sweet pitch of her voice, and the music went away. Try as she might, her voice never returned.
As he came forth of his mother’s womb, naked shall he return to go as he came, and shall take nothing of his labour, which he may carry away in his hand.
(Ecc 5:15) | Ageless Memories
Ageless Memories, On the Wings of a Dove and Mom
I take this time to remind people to cherish the ageless memories in time. That moment when, just like my mom, singing in a rhapsody so beautiful, I thought it was an angel voice. People enjoyed her singing and her presence. Mom is gone now. She spent the last five years or so in an institution. The visits we had seemed short. Over the years, the illness has been here today and gone for a while. She had battled it like a trooper. In the end, though, she lost out.
In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God also hath set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after him. All things have I seen in the days of my vanity: there is a just man that perisheth in his righteousness, and there is a wicked man that prolongeth his life in his wickedness.
(Ecc 7:14-15) | Ageless Memories
In those years, the institution called me often saying she was close to death. During these times, my heart and mind would go back to remembering the mother I knew. The one close to death was trodden by this illness. Thus, as the song went on, trouble came, and evils surrounded her. It was just as if the lyrics would beat out words that seemed to come to life. Her body weakened, and her Spirit at times defeated, she lay close to death.
Ageless Memories, On the Wings Of A Dove and Mom – The Struggle
There was one time in all those years, the mother I knew was back. It was very temporary. I had not carried on a conversation that made sense with her for years. Then on one visit, for a short period of time, she was healthy, and of a sound mind. At that instance we greeted each other and spent a long ten minutes talking as we used to. I loved to spend time with her, and now as we talked time stopped. Then in a moment, she was gone again. But not before she told me, that the “Lord said it was not time for her to die yet”. How she knew, only the Lord and she can tell. But I nodded, hugged her, and watched as she toddled off to the corner of her room. Now she was gone, far from me. Somewhere in the “wings of a Dove”, my heart wishes we could have spent more time together.
Then in the end, “love came down, in the Wings of a Dove”. She was gone. Take to be with the Lord. It is that one event in everyone’s lives that time and eternity come together. The time for her darkness and pain would be no more. For mom, suffering would be a thing of the past and hope being renewed now of her death. I know, somewhere in heaven, the words are heard “on the wings of a snow-white dove, God sent his pure sweet love” is ringing full and true. Coming from an angel of a woman, I call her mom. Cherish your mother and others today. Hold dear the thoughts of their lives lived in your presence. You never know when life will throw something in your way. But if it does, remember, there is hope, “On the Wings of a Dove”.
