The Bane of Lawless People within a nation can be not only seen, but what they do will tear down the moral fabric of society. It is true, our system of government was not made for unrighteous people. As we can plainly see today, the divided nation of America brings to the table such hate and vitriol that it threatens society. It has already been the cause of hatred, murders, looting, and the burning of our city’s businesses. While they declare it righteous, the guilt flows from the lips of these thugs. They are financed, controlled, and fed by powerful political elites. The blood and guilt therefore flow from the hidden hands who contrive and conspire to burn America down. But this is not just an American issue, worldwide we see nations in turmoil, governments persecuting their own people, and roving bands of murderous thugs. All of which see themselves as righteous and pure while they delight in their works. Of such was Cain who slew Able.

The Bane of Lawless People

No manner of stupendous foolishness or grandstand of acumen can convince a righteous person that folly is the wisdom to which they must also seek. Here we discuss the Bane, or the cause of great distress or annoyance. For America that Bane to which we refer is the shrewd fool who sees goodness in unrighteousness. It is also the nation that once had a leadership at the helm of its ship of state that knew the path to which they should be headed. Today, we find the opposite, however. But many in the helm of the ship of state are immoral, godless, and follow a line of foolishness. I could rant. I could rave. I could appeal to fools that the folly which they are following is not wise.

Let me say again that today in America instructing an immoral person of the folly of his ways is vanity. Deliverance from this folly comes through knowledge of the Revelation of the Lord God upon a repentant person which in truth and sincerity of heart does pursue the Lord Jesus Christ. This word Bane to which we use is applied here as a cause of great distress or annoyance. Scripture points out that Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people. This verse found in Proverbs 14:34 gives us a clear grasp of what the fruits are of Righteousness and Sin. Every nation one day and its people shall give an account of these opposites of Righteousness and Sin to which they have lived in.

It is as Keil & Delitzsch explains of righteousness and a nation. If that people follow “conduct directed by the will of God according to the norm of moral rectitude, rules, and prevails” it is to this that a people will secure their “nation a place of honour”.

Yet, many such fools who openly pursued wickedness have turned their own ship of destruction around. They have found life instead of death, light instead of darkness, and hope instead of terror. The question then becomes why does a people despite the truth, foundations laid, and wars fought for justice; just why do they pursue their own destruction?

At the Massachusetts Ratifying convention of 1788, Fisher Ames gave a speech and said that there is a “known propensity of a democracy” to follow “licentiousness.” The message is clear, and the word used is Licentiousness. It means decadence, corruption, self-indulgence, or yet out and out debauchery. Today America is all these things and much more! In addition, the one good word here is that not everyone in America is happy about the trends of godlessness today.

There is a truth here that many will never see. For generations now in the schools of America we have brainwashed the children into following lies and pursuing the honorary degree of carnality and lust. To pursue your own ways. To do your own thing and be damned the course if others do not like it. We have done this through the technique of teaching and raising children in the schools instead of by God fearing Parents. Parents who would raise their kids in the nurture and admonition of the Lord!

This has brought us to this era today where even adults now, have been raised without the sure and certain virtue of God-fearing Parents who raised their kids in a God-fearing manner. We have generations of spoiled Americans. In addition, we have generations of illegals that have poured over our borders to find life and a livable wage. Others have found a government subsistence.

Bane: ‘Misery, blight or curse’…. describes an ‘uncontrolled and ungovernable’ people who will not follow the moral code of the Lord God.

The solution for many today is to do for the poor. While we look to the poor, let us remember the words of Benjamin Franklin on the “Management of the Poor”, written in 1766. As Ben Franklin said, “I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it.” You are not doing them a favor by giving them unearned money and rent-free places to live. You give them a job, teach them a skill, and let them be productive in society. Same way for immigrants whether they are illegal or not. Let them be Americans and follow our Constitution and bill of rights. Let them not bring other attitudes of overthrowing this nation but let them be true Americans.

Here is the context of Franklins remarks:

“I am for doing good to the poor, but I differ in opinion of the means. I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it. In my youth I travelled much, and I observed in different countries, that the more public provisions were made for the poor, the less they provided for themselves, and of course became poorer. And, on the contrary, the less was done for them, the more they did for themselves, and became richer.”

The Bane of a lawless people is the plight and curse to which they bring upon themselves. They become unruly, spoiled, and their hands are out only for themselves or their agendas. What is more, true righteousness will exalt a nation by bringing Gods blessings. But today you cannot speak about the issue of holiness, righteousness, or even being civil to someone.

The biggest in your face example is the way the media, Hollywood, actors, and people of all kinds thrash, threaten, and made fun of former President Donald Trump. The hatred was symptomatic of a people that are foolish, living in their own folly [madness, craziness, idiocy]. They not only treated Trump like that, but anyone who followed him or don’t believe as they did. They are wise in their own conceit. Proverbs chapter twenty-six speaks to the fool and about a fool.

Comparing the fact that the “legs of the lame are not equal”, the Proverb in verse 7 says as well of this, “so is the parable in the mouth of fools”. The meaning here is the legs of the lame man and the parable in the mouth of fools are both useless to their possessors according to Albert Barnes. I agree with him and with the Proverb. The parable or tales that come out from the lips of the fools who treated, made fun of, and threatened President Trump are useless tales that meant nothing. These words and actions are hurtful and despicable.

Today the rise of hedonism, immorality, licentiousness and more pour out of the daily news stream. The news today is in all its glory “that fool’s folly”. Many of those who pursue the agenda to have the raunchiest, newest, and hateful diatribe is ongoing. It is about hate, racial bias, politics, and immorality. No, they don’t want holiness. No, they don’t want light. No, they don’t want the constitutional republic this nation was created to be. No, they don’t want to stop. They are wise in their own eyes. But here, let me interject; not all Americans like this or even accept this. None-the-less, we are bombarded with such idiocy daily! This occurs because of an immoral people who have left the roots of our nation based in Judeo-Christianity!

As Proverbs twenty-six and verse 10 says “the great God that formed all things both rewardeth the fool and rewardeth transgressors! So be it, it shall be done to those in any nation whose foolish ways, foolish parables, and foolish actions are seen as wisdom. But it is also true here and even our Lord said this, “as a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly”!

• Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.
• He that sendeth a message by the hand of a fool cutteth off the feet, and drinketh damage.

The Bane of a Lawless people is that they are fools in a folly that won’t end anytime soon. Don’t give honor to fools and don’t answer a fool according to his folly lest he is wise in his own eyes. Today the words of the bible and the words of those who were in America at the very beginning come to mind. Like Thomas Paine said in the American Crisis, No. 1, 1776 “What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives everything its value”.

Today generations of Americans have obtained this great nation too cheaply. It has been handed over to them, given to them, and they are squandering the whole kit and caboodle. Being raised by God fearing parents and living where I did, the things of which I have witnessed as an adult would have never occurred. If a newspaper, let alone a nation would allow filthy despicable cartoons like the BBC put on; then that newspaper would have shut down. Today we have no such thing happening. We live in a nation and among nations that laugh, joke, and give rise to the fools who in their folly pursue the very thing which in the end will bring the nation judgment. This one cartoon alone is the truth of the whole situation. This is what we have come to! This is where we are at, calling good evil and evil good!

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

There was another nation that had this problem in biblical history and the prophets. That nation was Israel. It was Jeremiah who gave the message to Israel, her Priests, prophets, and the King. These are his words, and they also herald a warning to America. Isaiah also had a word to give to his people.

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
