In Getting Understanding, Get this! Choice, Chance, and Consequences. Righteousness can rule in the hearts of people who have redeemed through Christ Jesus. Also, on the other hand Evil can dominate and rule in the hearts of humans and devils. There is Choice, Chance, and Consequences of actions. Everyone has a Choice to make. It is the Chance they take, both with their lives and in eternity. Then the one thing that humans cannot stop. This is the Consequences of their actions. Prophetically this is last days or as the Apostle Paul defines it “Perilous Times”. This is the snare that has come upon the whole earth. It is that time that scripture says, “no flesh would be left alive” if the Lord did not shorten the days. Especially today as we live and breathe prophecy and the coming of the Lord; evil is in the air, in the nations, and abiding in the hearts of men and women.
“A Journey for those who investigate the Whirlwind of these Last Days! Bearing the Cross in the War of Ages where Faith is the Victory that overcomes the World.”
“By God’s grace, we endure from faith to faith; day to day and pass by from trouble to endurance to an overcomer!”

Choice, Chance, and Consequences
The Apostle Paul describes in 2nd Timothy chapter three the perilous or hard to bear with end of days. Just a review of the descriptions there will make a believer out of most people that surely the end of days is here. Although there is Bad news, Bad people, and perilous times. We have a caveat! Therefore, let it be firmly noted that heaven, faith, and the Lord Jesus Christ rules in the hearts of his true believers who follow his will for their lives! While we can find basic good in humanity, without the Lord there is no redemptive avenue for them. It is true that there is a way that seems good to man, but the end thereof is death! We find two sections of scripture pertaining to this quote. One in Proverbs chapter fourteen. The other is found in Proverbs chapter sixteen.
The house of the wicked shall be overthrown but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish. There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
Pro 14:11-12
For the Old Testament saints, the way to walk in was the Law and the commandments. Yet even as this is so, there was a firmly rooted place for the saints to believe God, have faith, and to walk in that faith. It was Abraham who first believed God and it was accounted to him for righteousness’ sake. This accounting of righteousness was fulfilled through Jesus Christ and his vicarious death on the cross.
Today we as Christians believe God, having faith in the Lord and his work on the cross. Faith and belief are tied together in the fulfillment of the accounting of righteousness. God imputes or credits us with righteousness because we come to him in faith, believing. John says in chapter one, “he went to his own and his own received him not, but to as many as did receive him; to them gave the power to become the Sons of God.” As we receive Christ Jesus, believe on him and his work on the cross; we trust God to fulfill his Word concerning us.
A recent example we find in our modern world is Devin Patrick Kelly. The event happened back in 2017. He had a choice to make. The problem was the wrong decision he made. In that choice, he took a chance to fulfill his hatred by acting it out in real time. He was loaded with guns and bullets. He was ready for war and to kill. His hatred built up; he was convinced this was the act to carry out. He then took the chance when he entered a church loaded with unarmed and innocent people. He succeeded in killing half of the small congregation.
Police found hundreds of shell casings, and fifteen magazines with thirty rounds each. Who he didn’t kill in the church, he wounded. Yet as he finished his deed, the chance he took to get even took another turn. He ran into others who took Devin on. One shot him, and Devin was pursued by another. In the end Devin shot himself to finish the job. He had been hit twice by gunfire from the citizen who confronted him outside the church. The consequences of the action were immediate. Many dead, but they were all Christians and surely are now with the Lord.
Devin for his work is in hell right now, regretting his actions. He absolutely wishes he weren’t there. Today you can find many just like Devin in one respect or another. We have many people today who live with hatred, unbelief, or classify themselves as atheists or agnostic. One day all will stand before the Lord. At that time, they will know! The very thing they never believed nor counted on would find them.
There is a Living God! Surely no one is an unbeliever in hell! They all, including devils know there is a God and Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. They also now know; they were held accountable for the deeds they did!
I will repeat this for emphasis; today we have had many Devin’s. and still do. Add to that the murderous groups who target Christians to kill them. You can find them around the world: different sexes, different beliefs, and distinct reasons for carrying out their hatred and murder that found its way into their hearts. All had a choice! All took a chance! Finally, all suffered or will suffer the consequences of their actions.
The Lord says in the last chapter of Revelation; “He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. And behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.”
Rev 22:11-12
Further, the Lord guarantees that he will “come quickly” and that his “reward is with” him! He will reward the consequences to all actions of every man and woman for the things they have done in this body whether they be good or bad. Society today does not believe this. People do not believe this. If they did, they would not be doing the things that they do!
Choice, Chance, and Consequences -The correct choice vs the incorrect choice:
Those who walk in righteousness, in the light of God’s word, fears the LORD! It is also true that those who are wicked and perverse in their own ways despise the righteous! Proverbs here compares the righteous person, one who fears God and walks in his ways to those who reject God and his Word. Thus, the scripture that says “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death” holds true today!
Today there are many who walk their own path. We have seen ISIS and their butchery, all fighting for their god. They expected to see a reward of virgins, wine, and good times if they died in jihad. Yet they are in hell today! While the Christians they murdered are in heaven. God sent his son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for the sins of all men. You need to come to the light and receive him. No one need die and go to hell, but all face the second death. Yes, it is given to all men that they must die and after this the judgment.
However, because of Christ’s death and resurrection Christians are delivered from the second death. These are facts, and the world rejects these things scripture declares. The world hated Jesus; it hates those who follows him. These are biblical truths! This is war, this is the battle, and this is the truth. Here Choice, Chance, and Consequences ring loud and clear!
We see continual evil and wickedness in the world, in the nations, and even in the church. Everyone will get their reward. Be sure you know which path you are walking and that, in fact, you are on the correct one. Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no man cometh unto the Father but by me”! John 14:6
Now look at both portions of scripture and see the difference in those who are wise, who fear the Lord, and will walk according to the Word of the Lord. I suggest you read the entire chapter that contains these verses. Read Proverbs chapter fourteen and sixteen. In these sections of scripture righteousness and wickedness are compared in the same verses. Do not let our modern technology, sciences, and man’s wisdom dissuade you from God’s Truths here. These things will not save you, only Christ Jesus will.
He that walketh in his uprightness feareth the LORD: but he that is perverse in his ways despiseth him. In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.
He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he. The wise in heart shall be called prudent: and the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning. Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it: but the instruction of fools is folly.
Proverbs 14:2-3 | Proverbs 16: 20-22 | Choice, Chance, and Consequences
Righteousness and the benefits compared to wickedness. We find the righteous listed first, in complete sentences, while the wicked are last in these portions. This second section clearly reveals the reward of doing such things.
In this section verse twenty-two is especially true today, “the instructions of fools is folly”! Today we have fools teaching our children to be fools! This is paramount to the issues facing our world today. Fools reign, Fools teach, and Fools want others to walk their Foolish ways without the true and Living God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ.!
In this verse, it says as well “Understanding is a wellspring of life”! Today people do come to that Understanding and Knowledge of the Truth. They are found of the Lord and repent; thus, seeking his face and his ways. This is the True understanding. Paul warns about a society that is “always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth”! This is our problem today!
Today, understand that there is a Way that seems correct to people today to walk in. Many today have rejected biblical Christianity. Paul tells us in 2 Thessalonians chapter two that society will reject the “love of the Truth”. This is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Society will reject the Lord, the Father, and the saving grace given to all men. They will reject the Word of God as well. We are seeing a lawless society in America and one that is festering in the nations around the world.
It is up to us, those who know the Lord to be the light, and the ones to testify to the world that there is Hope and a Way for all men and women to please God in their walk for Him on this earth! If in this life you want to get understanding, then get the Understanding that leads to True Life!
1Jn 5:19-20
(19) And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.
(20) And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
2Pe 1:10-11
(10) Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
(11) For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
