Christian Living Vapor Amid Time -It is true, life passes by like a mist. Your life, whether you are a Christian or not is here today and gone tomorrow. A place before Eternity is where you are right now. How you act, what you do, and more importantly what choices you make. Yes, these will determine it all. It comes down to a decision and doing that thing which many fail to see or do. What will you do? Whatever you decide, it will determine your outcome once eternity arrives for you. Life is short! This phrase I personally have heard countless times. As the days pass you by, there is a time reality check. As people you know pass on from this mortal coil, there is a time reality check. There is Hope and this is beyond time and space, into an area of the mercy and love of God.

He had the time but didn’t tend to the important things as he should have.
A long night out with the gang, he arrived late and barely
sober. He went to the refrigerator and took out cold cuts. Grabbing a shot of
scotch, and some deli crackers he went to the living room. Turning on the TV,
he watched the latest from the stock market. He sat down and munched on his snacks.
Then checking his phone for his portfolio,
he smiled. Even drunk he had no problem checking his phone app for his stocks. All were up considerable, including his alcohol
content. He realized that he was doing very well financially.
Happiness overflowed within him, but not from the alcohol and partying he had done. He had made the grade. His portfolio proved his worth. For him, the possessions laid up were what it was about. Alone but strangely comfortable in his massive 110,000 square foot house, he sat back and laughed. All he was worth spoke volumes to others of his ilk who looked up to him. He had major cash reserves, savings accounts, stocks, bonds, and a current income of seven figures. He was well set and in his fifties was in fantastic physical shape. He did work out and eat the right foods. Enjoying a long healthy and wealthy life, yes, he had overcome it all. From pauper parents he had risen above the poverty, but also the faith which hindered him. He saw it hinder his parents as well. But they seemed happy even with next to nothing and their faith in Jesus. However, he liked to party and enjoyed all the benefits of it. Including the good-looking dames, he always had at his side. He had thought of himself as a good person but didn’t indulge himself in the hypocrites and their churches. He loathed them. Yet on this night, as he went to bed; he stopped at the top of the stairs and took one step. He fell at the very doorway of his huge bedroom. Alone and gasping for air, he was faint and losing consciousness fast. As he felt himself lifting, he heard it clearly. “Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then who’s shall those things be, which thou hast provided?” As he left his body, he saw himself laying there in the hallway; around him were large angelic beings who took him firmly. As he looked at them, his life played its way through from birth to death. His life, now a spirit; found that a person is like a ‘Vapor amid time’. One moment you were alive and now you are gone, as a vapor or puff of smoke. The angelic beings looked at him as they lifted him, taking him away. “Where are you taking me, he thought?” “You died in your sins and rejected the Messiah Jesus Christ. You will go to the place reserved for the dead until the great day of judgment. At that time, all souls will stand before the Almighty King to give account of those deeds they have done.”
Vapor Amid Time is a prose writing reflecting the similar account in Luke the twelfth chapter KJV.
Jesus Christ in Luke, the twelfth chapter tells a story about a rich man who had it all. To this rich man life was good. He lived his life without a care. Giving no thought to tomorrow, his riches were his security and safety net. Today this same thought exists.
Most assuredly as people rise in status and wealth; things
change. Money makes the difference for many today. Some laugh all the way to
the bank counting their cash. In America, our system has brought to many people
a self-assured and safe feeling. Howbeit, our division in America has affected even
the well-to-do. Many of whom are getting much less sleep over all this trouble.
Finally, I must add there are certain laws
we have made which are an abomination to the Lord God.

And he spake a parable unto them, saying, the ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: And he thought within himself, saying, what shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? And he said, this will I do I will pull down my barns and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? So is he that layeth up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.

The real issue is that today the nations of men are
careening down a slippery slope. That slope is paved with lawlessness, pride,
unbelief, and wickedness; just to name a few things. Selfishness is also
paramount today and it is the fuel along with pride that funnels the ability to
live unto ourselves without a care. The paradoxes that exist in life are
evident today.
While we go about our daily lives in America, we are bored at times with all the fruits of our labors. We wallow in this. If We compare ourselves to the World with its many people, the difference between us and them is staggering. Many are in distress. No food, no shelter, no churches to go to, and no home left either. We do not value life, we give no quarter to being merciful, we care not to give a guy a break, nor do we care for each other. We live our lives in the moment of protests, causes, selfies and self-interests. Our battles are righteous or so we think.
Today the world wants to Save the Planet, Save the whales, Save the dolphins, Save the rare species, and much more. Too much carbon dioxide, too much carbon foot prints all come at us…blah…blah…blah. Yet we will not lift one finger to save a child from abortion. Today the most fought battle is not over our sins but over whether to kill a baby in the womb of its mother.
In addition, as we cover the crackdown on Christianity and other faiths, we find persecution of Christian believers is increasing. From China to India to the middle east, believers in Jesus are faced with insurmountable troubles. For instance, in India and other nations, we find Christians are targeted year around. Yet Christmas and Easter are the times when extreme care must be taken. As believers want to enjoy the holidays by rejoicing, prayers, and celebrating Christ’s birth; people are murdered. Churches destroyed. People face daily harassment that is in their face.
The killing and persecution of Christians are on the genocide list in some areas. As it is continuing, Americans and others in the west stay comfortable and carry on their lives. Meanwhile, celebrations in the west go merrily on their Ho-Ho-Ho way. Americans and the other nations of the west have spent billions of dollars on Christmas. This is excluding other celebrations and holidays. While some do genuinely care, many are wrapped up in their own world. Today in America and the nations of men, be sure what you do and how you do it is something you will give account for. Not one person will escape this.
All this my friends are on that aspect of eternity. In the eyes of eternity, these generations are but a Vapor amid Time. The Lord Jesus Came to set us free, forgive us, and allow us to live above the lust of the flesh in this world and walk as he walked [see 1st John chapter 1]. It is not a sin to live in a rich nation and enjoy the things of life. It is not a sin to live as an American. It is not your fault you were born in America or in China or in India or in Kenya or in the Sudan.
However, the Lord God will hold you accountable for what you
do. Even in the comfortable western nations or somewhere else. Be sure your
sins will find you out. What you sow today will be reaped tomorrow. This includes
the governments of men and all agencies of federal and local governing
agencies. It goes for all in the religious and educational realms.
We see how far the liberals have corrupted by immoral and unethical leaders. In this nation called America we have seen years of corruption, bias, and hatred focused on political leaders like Former President Donald Trump. Liberal radical leftists who honor Marxist ideals are entwined in the political leadership of America. Even Christians and Christianity, conservatives, and Patriots have come under fire. In fact, some of those Marxist leaders have voiced opinions to lock them up.
Now back to that rich man at the beginning. In America many live as that rich man. People may not have the money as a rich man. They may not have many accomplishments or even possessions. All people do care about the same things. The four most important: food, shelter, water, and heat. These are basics of survival. Today people may live their lives differently. But in all ways, we face life and death. In between those two parameters we find our lives living themselves out. God’s timetable provides you his mercy and his love. He requires you to repent. Be sure today, you are worth saving. Your life, your spirit is that Vapor amid eternity and what you do with Jesus Christ will determine the rest of your eternal existence. That is why he came to save us.
However, if you think that our faith and belief in Jesus
Christ is for this life only, you are mistaken. As Paul said, “If in this life
only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable!” It is not just
about our lives as Christians in this life alone. It is about the eternity with
Jesus Christ that matters. Our lives were never meant to be just a Vapor in the
midst of Eternity. We are destined to be with our God and Father and our Lord
Jesus Christ forever. That is our Hope and our destiny.
For every Christian martyred, every person abused, and every rich nation, there is a warning and a hope. For every jihadist, every liar, every cheat, and everyone on the planet there is a God to whom you will give an answer. For every politician, Christian Leader, Unbeliever, and the nations of men, you will stand for your sins. These will be found out, judged, and a sentence carried out. In the truth of the bible the truth stands that all have sinned and thus will face the sentence. That is death, for the soul that sins shall die. However, Christ died for your sins so you could stand before that God on judgment day and be safe from destruction.
What you do with what you have today is up to you! Remember the Rich man? His was a poor choice! Many today make the same poor choices. Strive to lay up treasures in Heaven.
If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. But now is Christ risen from the dead and become the firstfruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward, they that are Christ’s at his coming. Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father, when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

I have read this book thoroughly, and it is quite a page turner. The author, Dana Glenn Smith, wrote The Rising before all the riots erupted across America. He doesn't have a crystal ball, but he relies on the input provided by our Lord. This book kept me on the edge of my seat, I had a hard time putting this book down. It has a few surprises along the way. I have to say there are a few characters that are my favorite, the Uncle, Tiger, the Uncle's best friend, the Pastor and his wife and the relative of the Uncle. Steel the Darkness is an enjoyable read and leaves the ending wide open for another one. The Col is an evil man, one that seems to be out for only one thing, The destruction of human souls. Will he prevail or will the faith of the People fighting against the darkness win?

Be sure today, you are worth saving. Your life, your spirit is that Vapor amid eternity and what you do with Jesus Christ will determine the rest of your eternal existence. That is why he came to save us.
However, if you think that our faith and belief in Jesus Christ is for this life only, you are mistaken. As Paul said, “If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable!” It is not just about our lives as Christians in this life alone. It is about the eternity with Jesus Christ that matters. Our lives were never meant to be just a Vapor in the midst of Eternity. We are destined to be with our God and Father and our Lord Jesus Christ forever. That is our Hope and our destiny.
For every Christian martyred, every person abused, and every rich nation, there is a warning and a hope. For every jihadist, every liar, every cheat, and everyone on the planet there is a God to whom you will give an answer. For every politician, Christian Leader, Unbeliever, and the nations of men, you will stand for your sins. These will be found out, judged, and a sentence carried out. In the truth of the bible the truth stands that all have sinned and thus will face the sentence. That is death, for the soul that sins shall die. However, Christ died for your sins so you could stand before that God on judgment day and be safe from destruction.
What you do with what you have today is up to you! Remember the Rich man? His was a poor choice! Many today make the same poor choices. Strive to lay up treasures in Heaven.
