In Christ Jesus Non-conformity to the world. This is the Beginning and Ending of All Things in Christ Jesus. Here we are in the world but not fashioned according to it’s desires and lusts. There is a place found in Christ that frees us from the bondage of sin, lusts, and desires of the minds. The fact that the Lord wanted his children to be separate from the world dates back to the very beginning. This is truly Christian Non-conformity in the world!

The flood was finished. Everything was now swept away in this judgment except Noah, the ark, animals, and Noah’s family. As they were told to leave the ark, Noah began his work. Among which was the first recorded altar and offering we have in scripture. It was now the fact that paradise was gone, washed away in the flood. The sons of Adam did not need such an altar. They would simply turn their offerings and prayers towards paradise where man once had met with God. God was in heaven, in his temple. Yet he still looked down upon earth in the aftermath of judgment giving man mercy.
It is here we find the offering which the LORD had seen. He felt the grateful and prayerful worship of that offering by Noah who had with his family looked to the LORD, seen here as Jehovah. Thus, in the aftermath of this judgment new mercy and a promise was given. The Lord would not curse the ground anymore for man’s sake, this is due to the fact of the food and provision of man would now be provided for through his mercy and Providence. Man, even in his fallen state was still loved by God. The scripture points this out with the phrase “for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth”! In addition, God would not smite any more every living thing as was done in the flood. This does not mean that God would never judge sin or sinful men or rebellious nations. The rebellious and sinful people before the flood would not repent. While Noah here is seen with this offering on the altar, it is clear; he had a heart for God.
And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart,

Gen 8:20-22 In Christ Jesus Non-conformity to the world
The final point made here is that no matter what would come upon man in future generations one thing would be certain. “While the earth remained” there would be “seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night”! These would “not cease” to occur. Man could always have this as assurance that all things would continue. Man would continue to do evil, while there would be some as Noah with a heart for God! In all this, Gods providence and mercy would allow man to live. Judgment would be finalized upon the death of man when he would stand before this monumental Judge!
Moving ahead we find the true scope of where the Lord was taking his relationship with man. This is found in the new covenant. Paul in Romans writes to these readers how to live in this new covenant relationship brought about by the cross, the crucifixion, the shedding of blood, and resurrection. This new relationship through receiving the Lord [see John chapter one], being born again by the Spirit of God [see John chapter three] was one of the faith of man, believing God; who then would input righteousness unto those who would believe.
For those in this new relationship born through faith, belief, and repentance; a life could be lead and be blessed. Paul says, “by the mercies of God”, here mercy that unrequited love and forgiveness of God given through His Son Jesus Christ who died on the cross for our sin means a new chapter. As Noah and his family entered a new chapter of love, mercy, and blessing living on earth after the flood; so today we can continue our lives in this same mercy which God showed to Noah.
Paul says because of this mercy given to you by God be sure to “present your bodies a living sacrifice”! Instead of the sacrifice of animals or follow the letter of the law; they are to present their love to God by following the Lord and walking in ways pleasing to God. This would be accepted by God, a pleasing sacrifice just as Noah’s first sacrifice was back in the aftermath of the flood. Thus, Paul tells us this living sacrifice is “holy, acceptable unto God” and furthermore he says this is our “reasonable service”! It is the one thing we can do daily in our living for our God and Father and our Lord Jesus Christ!
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

What is more here, is the fact we are to be non-conformists. Our non-conformity though is not to remove ourselves from the world. Indeed, we would have to move to another planet as some today see as possible through our technology. But we are not to be like the world. Just as Noah stood as a righteous symbol in his day and built the ark, by faith; believing God, we must do the same. But our ark is not gopher wood, the judgment is not worldwide flood meant to wipe out all human life. Our ark is the temple of our bodies. We are to be conformed to the scripture in Gods Word. We are to be “Transformed by the renewing of our mind”! Having our thoughts, our minds, and our will; along with our heart rooted and grounded in Christ Jesus and his Word. Allowing these Words to transform us by the washing of the water by the word! The Word of God is Spirit and life, which can cleanse your mind and heart and soul! It can direct you, detect your thoughts and desires, and give you faith. We are to be non-conformists but be conformed to the things of God through Jesus Christ. Thus, it is said so “that we may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

God will not tolerate sin and even more a sinful church of rebellious proud sinners. God has provided a way for all people to be redeemed. But we know that many will not come to the Lord. It is written in John’s Gospel that they will not come to the light of the Lord because they love darkness. We were warned not to love the world nor the things in the world for all that is in the world; the lust of the eyes, the pride of life, and lust of the flesh is not of God. We were warned of tribulation, troubles, and those who would hate us because they first hated the Lord. The enemies of God and of Christ Jesus his Only begotten Son are in the world. They do not love God nor the Son. Thus, the enemies in these ends of days will not go away. However, those who do follow the Lord and walk in His light prove that they are found in God. When we come to the light, repent, and believe upon the Lord we are in the world of darkness, but we are the light and the salt. It is here that we reveal that our “deeds may be manifest [or revealed] that they are wrought [formed, fashioned, and approved] in God”!
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (19) And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. (20) For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. (21) But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

But as we walk in this earth know that all sinners are called to repent. God loves all men on this earth. He has promised that seedtime, harvest, and seasons will continue. This promise given to Noah is still in effect, although the end of days is here. We also know that the Great Tribulation which is judgment upon the earth and upon men will one day arrive.
This judgment is primarily for those that have joined with the Beast of Revelation 13, aka; the Son of Perdition of 2 Thessalonians 2. In a mighty rebellion for a period on earth this judgment will be thrust upon men. The times will be dire as the Lord says that “unless the days are shortened, no flesh will be saved; but for the elect’s sake, the days will be shortened -Mark 13:20.” Further when Christ comes Revelation points out that Christ will “destroy those who have destroyed the earth -Revelation 11:18.” Remember Noah rode through the judgment safely through provision by the Lord.
In these last days God has told us what is coming. It will be one of toughest times, so much so; that no generation before or after us will have seen such trouble. This end time will give birth to the Kingdom on earth known as the Millennial reign of Christ. He will rule and reign on this planet with his followers for 1000 years, which will be followed by events bringing in a new heaven and earth and the final kingdom of God on this earth. Paradise which was on earth before will be reinstated but with one big exception, the Heavenly Jerusalem; Gods throne will be among men on earth. This is our Hope and our goal to be found in Him and live with Him. As God was faithful to Noah, so too; he will be faithful to every soul found in God through Christ Jesus!

I have read this book thoroughly, and it is quite a page turner. The author, Dana Glenn Smith, wrote The Rising before all the riots erupted across America. He doesn't have a crystal ball, but he relies on the input provided by our Lord. Some folks will ask if it is possible for treasonous forces inside America to be actively trying to bring America down. The forces of the evil darkness will do whatever it takes, to satisfy their dark lord. Pick up The Rising, you'll be glad that you did.

This book kept me on the edge of my seat, I had a hard time putting this book down. It has a few surprises along the way. I have to say there are a few characters that are my favorite, the Uncle, Tiger, the Uncle's best friend, the Pastor and his wife and the relative of the Uncle. Steel the Darkness is an enjoyable read and leaves the ending wide open for another one. The Col is an evil man, one that seems to be out for only one thing, The destruction of human souls. Will he prevail or will the faith of the People fighting against the darkness win?
