Ecclesiastes Mirror Reflecting Mans Choice

Ecclesiastes Mirror Reflecting Mans Choice brings scripture and practicality down to mainstream America. It is also true that while these passages reflect what society faces and the God who is above all, there are always choices. Revelation chapter twenty-two also gives a person that. In fact, the blanket statements of good, evil, righteous, and wicked are there in your face. No doubting what it is speaking about. While society ignores these biblical aspects of our lives, i.e. whether we be good or evil, these both are choices we must make. In the process know that there is a God of all souls who shall judge us for what we do in these lives we lead while parked in our earthly bodies. Ecclesiastes walks through some of these and reveals what we all know. Life is short and we must make the best of it we can. In this article, we give you the straightforward conclusion of the whole matter.

Ecclesiastes Mirror Reflecting Mans Choice

Ecclesiastes Mirror casts a Reflection regarding Mans Choices. Many today may find its content depressing. Some people may not even consider it at all. But the Ecclesiastes Mirror is full of wisdom. We walk through some verses found in Ecclesiastes. Remember, from the book and the writer; along with the speaker, the full revelation of the coming Messiah had not yet been fully revealed. Further, the speaker is Solomon, King of Jerusalem. Some commentators have suggested this speaker could be King Hezekiah. In both cases, this does not necessarily mean the speaker also authored the book. The speaker takes on life and its vanities from his own experiences. Finally, he draws a conclusion to the whole matter of which has been spoken.  The whole issue at hand is the vanity of life and all those men may do if they do it without the Lord God. Today, we look at this book and consider that all we do is vanity or to no good end. That is, unless we are found in Jesus [Yeshua] Christ; the only begotten of the Father. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

However, especially in America; this truth is hard to grasp for a hedonistic society like ours. In America we live for “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” The founders of this nation came from a persecuted existence as Christians. The Crown of Britain pursued other courses of faith and religious expression with a zeal to shut it down. It is no doubt that history records in the Isle of Britain, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales of persecution and death. This did occur many times for Christians who veered from the stated national Church of England. In Ireland, the hate between protestants and Catholics led to war and strife. Today, it is not Great Britain nor a related nation that is the enemy of Christianity per se. It is a host of nations today which finds Christianity an enemy.  The one enemy that makes war against Christians today is Islam in all its radicalized forms.

The one bond in all this is that we are all human, even though we act like non-human in our brutality and hatred. In America, we find that human activity taking time in being divided. On social feeds both sides of the divide spend time harassing, ridiculing, finding fault, and despising one another. This nation has not seen such division since before the civil war. That led to brutal war, further division, and the death of many Americans. The divide in America today can certainly lead to the same type of war and this time it would be far worse.

Such things became the topic of discussion when the wife and I had an appointment with a professional. No, not a doctor but someone we do see occasionally. After the business was finished, conversations began. The man to whom I spoke discussed the division and problems that are in this nation. Not to forget the liberality, socialism, communism, open borders, and other issues that so frequent such talk. It was agreed, however; that all who we speak to individually all mention how they hate the divide in this nation. Here let it be noted that both democrat, republican, independent, and religious all find it troubling. Troubling to the point of ignoring news and going about their own business. None of which want, let alone like the path this country is on regarding such hate for other Americans. In short, many find it wicked, evil, and disdainful to listen or experience.

The next day after our conversations we had a chance encounter with a friend in a store. We had taken time to do some walking and found ourselves in deep discussion in this popular retailer. We spoke at length for about an hour or more. It happened that the discussion contained the same issues which we had previously shared our other friends.  Now these were acquaintances, friends; of whom we knew. However, their beliefs and party lines were not necessarily the exact as our own. Yet we found a commonality in the issues of America.

The conclusion was how divided and unsettling it was. The issues were paramount to those we discussed the problems. Concerns pertaining to our freedoms and lifestyles also were deemed threatened. No doubt, over the last year; one conclusion became clear. That is, the divide is real. In addition, the problems causing the schism in this country were important. Important enough to stand against the liberal push we saw threatening the existence of this nation.

However, this article is not about the divide or its issues. It is about the mirror that reflects the most to man. That mirror is God’s word. The world doesn’t attune itself to God’s word. In fact, God and everything related to him are foolishness. Unless you are born again of the Spirit of God, see John chapter 3; you may not understand this. Unless you receive Christ as described in John chapter one, you will not be given power to become the Son of God. So as much as our troubles are basic disagreements and constitutional issues; they are spiritual. As much as we blame people for our problems, the main issue is sin.

(5)  It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools.

Ecc 7:5 | Wisdom or Foolishness

In this division, Ecclesiastes speaks clearly to all people. For it is wiser to hear or listen to the rebuke of the wise. It is surely a fool’s game to hear and listen to the wailing of fools trying to convince you of things that are foolish. Foolish both for you, your family, your faith, and your nation. Make sure that listening to the fool or the wise person are not the only choices.  For one you can simply ignore it all. Which many try to do.

But our words and actions will one day be subject to a major review. All we say or do are in the clear view of the Lord God. We all shall give account to him. Therefore, it is a fool’s path to choose to ignore your words and actions as you carry them out. For the one who watches, and listens is neither man nor does he think like man. What you say in America, or elsewhere; whether you use social media to say it or not; all of it is before God in heaven. You are temporal, your very breath is given you by the Lord. Your redemption is purchased by our Lords blood on Calvary. In view of this, pause, think, and reflect on what you say and do. In this Ecclesiastes gives us a word of wisdom.

(2)  Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter anything before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.

Ecc 5:2

While the division is evident, the fuel for this divide is pride. There are other issues here as well. For especially in America our lives are intertwined with money, fame, Hollywood, riches, rich and poor people, and then those with mega riches. It is truth here as Ecclesiastes points out “he that loveth silver shall not be satisfied, nor he that loves abundance!” For in both, people are not satisfied with just a little wealth, or a few things. Our culture is built on empires of men who became wealthy on convincing Americans to buy stuff.

Today we have other billionaires who are funding the division because they don’t like the path America is taking. Not just satisfied with being rich and having it all, they spend their time buying and selling men and nations. So, the rest of the community of men and nations have no choice. It is true in our society that money can buy all things. Further with mega-millions the mega Rich can change a society or nation. Money equals opportunity, even for those who donate or buy media spots just to promote an anti-American agenda.

(10)  He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity.

Ecc 5:10 Riches

It is also true that in the nations of men, God is shaking all things. Just read Matthew 24, Luke 21, Mark 13, and Revelation just to name a few places to find this out. Riches and wealth along with the abundance that it creates leaves a confidence that the judgment of God would not find them. That in their safe castles of money, silver, gold, and abundance; no amount of trouble could reach them. This is the mistake of many a rich person. Thinking that nothing, let alone God could bring them to account for their actions.

Ecclesiastes Mirror Reflecting Mans Choice

In America, the love of money and things rests on the foundation of pride and pleasure. Thus, we are more than hedonistic. We are luxurious in our pagan ways, lusts, and those things we imbibe in. What is more, we teach our children to do the same things. But know this, judgment will find you, as it will find even America. In that day, when you are prosperous and enjoying life; be joyful and give all glory to God. When the day of adversity strikes, know that God is in charge and trust him. For as Ecclesiastes says, “God has also set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after him.” The only one who will get glory is the Lord who will save his redeemed. This scripture reminds us of the balance in human life. All is vanity in this life. Nothing will last. Only those found in Christ Jesus and walking in Him, will overcome; see 1st John chapter 1-5.

(14)  In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider God also hath set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after him.

Ecc 7:14 Balance of life!

Moreover, many people like to vow before the Lord. Here it is a specific promise made to the Lord God. In many circles people will say and do anything to get out of trouble. How many times have we heard of a person who is dying and swears if God lets them live then they will do this or that! But the Lord said in Matthew chapter five and verse 34 “I say unto you Swear [take an oath, vow] not at all, neither by heaven; for it is God’s throne. Nor by the earth, for it is his footstool…”

(4)  When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed.

(5)  Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.

Ecc 5:4-5

God’s word can be reflective into your soul. Jesus Christ is the WORD incarnate, God in the flesh. He said, “My words are Spirit, and they are life!” So too, the Word of God is Spirit and life. We thus read Ecclesiastes which was written aforetime to help us to learn truths. These Words are Spirit and life to them that mix the words with faith and obedience. We are to learn from them.  Here are two more examples. One is the power of two and the other is admonition on married life.

(9)  Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor.

(10)  For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.

(11)  Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone?

(12)  And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

Ecc 4:9-12 Ecclesiastes Mirror Reflecting Mans Choice conclusion

For the married people and those wanting the biblical marital union. We are to live joyfully with each other. Uniting as one against all odds. Being victorious and rejoicing together. Supporting, loving, and helping each other in the confines of biblical marriage.

Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that is thy portion in this life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun.

Ecc 9:9 Ecclesiastes Mirror Reflecting Mans Choice Marriage

Finally, the book of Ecclesiastes declares the conclusion. In every example, every word and syllable; we are to understand there is a point in this book. All men, all women; everyone in every place must “Fear God and keep his Commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.”

Today we have hope. Christ Jesus died on the cross for all people everywhere. There is no reason for anyone to be lost, for Christ made a way for you. Know that all people will stand before the Lord God. All works which people have done will be brought into His light. There will be no secrets, all will be known, whether they are good or evil.  Be sure to read Revelation chapter 22, verses 11-12, which says “He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. And behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.”

The question here which is eternal, where will you be in all this? Know that procrastination and failure to act on God’s grace and mercy could find you standing in his presence without that grace or mercy!

(13)  Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
(14)  For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
