In a fascinating and biblical journey, we embark on Eden from the East. We pointedly look at the scripture and also the prophetic revelations of this Journey. We consider that Eden was to the East and follow this Eastern clue to the final point where our Lord will come from the east, as lightening from the east to the west. While the historic and absolute location of Eden has been researched intensely as has the actual location of Eden. The point is not to find Eden or specifically place unscriptural explanations regarding the location. This is purely biblical and prophetic interest and research that I did at the time I originally published this heavily researched article. This article has more words than the original one with approximately 5, 177 words contained therein of just the main article.

Eden From the East
In Genesis 2:8 a portion reads “And the LORD God planted a garden literally meaning ‘a place hedged round’ eastward in Eden here literally ‘delight’”. The Septuagint calls this garden ‘Paradise’ and it was located in the eastern portion of Eden according to Keil and Delitzsch. The garden then was only a portion of an area known as Eden. It was hedged round about, like a fence. In this separate, hedged in area the man and later the woman lived. In the cool of the day, Yahweh would walk in the Garden. It was here that fellowship between God and Man took place.
Eden from the East (8) And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. (9) And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food, the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. (10) And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted and became into four heads. (11) The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold; (12) And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone. (13) And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia. (14) And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.
Gen 2:8-14 | A garden eastward in Eden | Eden From the East
Eden became known as the original Paradise from whence man was driven. There is no doubt that I and it goes without saying my wife also would like to find the original site of Eden. It would be nice if it were intact. Today many try to place this Paradise on a map and say here it is folks. Archeologists and explorers have gone in search of the biblical Eden. The point here is that in the biblical description we know a river went out of Eden to water the garden, the area called Paradise. This river flowed out and into the Garden to water it. From the Garden it was parted into four heads. One head was the Euphrates, another ‘Hiddekel-that which flows east’ and is thought to be the Tigris. The other two are not positively known. However, the Midrash [Gen. R. xvi. 7] says of the other three rivers which are not mentioned directly as was the Euphrates:
The first river, Pison, probably refers to the Indus, which encircles Hindustan, confirming the Targum Yerushalmi. The second river, Gihon, is the Nile in its circuitous course around Ethiopia, connecting with the Gulf of Aden. The third river, Hiddekel, is the Tigris, which has its course in the front of Assur (= Persia), speaking from the writer’s point of view in Palestine. Some explain the difficulty of finding the courses of the rivers by supposing that since the Deluge these rivers have either ceased to exist, entirely or in part, or have found subterranean outlet8.
There is no doubt that to Adam and Eve the whole of Eden, its Garden, the animals, and the rivers all meant one thing. The abundance God provides. It was an illustration of his Grace, favor, and the provision for man; whom he created.
Eden God and Man And God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. (27) So, God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. (28) And God blessed them, and God said unto them, be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. (29) And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. (30) And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to everything that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
Gen 1:26-30 | God and Man |Eden From the East
Here we find man and his God, companionship, meeting God, fellowship, and much more. It was Paradise. Man had dominion, a beautiful place to live, and he could eat herbs, seeds, nuts, and fruit. The beasts of the earth, the fowl of the air and to everything that creepeth on the earth that is alive, God gave every green herb for meat. There were no carnivores in the Garden. There was no shedding of blood. It was perfect. Man and woman were there in a Garden, no curse, no toil, no cold, no heat, it was perfect. Man was clothed in God’s glory all around him. But it was that connection of the Spirit of God with man in his inner man that was vital. But neither man nor his woman could eat of the tree of the “knowledge of good and evil”. It was to this very tree, which man did eat and became expelled from the Paradise.
Man is become as one of us And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever: (23) Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. (24) So, he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubim’s, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.
Gen 3:22-24 | Man is become one of us | Eden From the East
We pick up the story of Adam and Eve as they are leaving the Garden. They were expelled and the danger would be that they might eat of the “tree of life”, and then these two would be forever kept in their state of sin. They would never escape death or the curse. Out of mercy, God drove them from the Garden. Man, who did not know what clothes were found out in the use of animal skins for clothing to cover themselves. This replaced the fig leaves. But in all this we find Yahweh God had indeed proceeded to bring forth the destiny of man and the serpent.
Beguiled (13) And the LORD God said unto the woman, what is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, the serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. (14) And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: (15) And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
Gen 3:13-15 | Seed of the Woman | Eden From the East
So, it shall rest one day, and man would be reunited with his God. On the other hand, the serpent is crushed under the heel. Here we find the first of the prophecies of man’s redemption. That is, an enmity [hostility] between the serpent and the woman. What began in the Garden as a conversation between Serpent and the Woman which led to the downfall of man; would end up as hostility against between them both. It would be through the Woman’s seed that would bruise the Serpents head while the Serpent would bruise his heel. But as we see, we find this seed, a lone descendant who would literally put an end to the Serpent and that which was behind him, meaning the devil. It would be war and one that would go forth for millennia. We find that Eve bears three sons, one of them Seth would pass a seed which would bear Noah. It would be through Noah that the human race was preserved.
Then we find out of Noah we have Shem, from whom we have Abraham descended from. Then from Abraham came Isaac, the Son of Promise where the promise flowed through. It was Isaac and not Ishmael that was the “son of promise”. I repeat this important phrase because the sons of Ishmael argue that he bore the promise. This is proven false in the Pentateuch! Thus, we have the “seed of the woman”, a single descendant which would eventually lead to the destruction of the evil one. As Paul says in Romans, “in Isaac shall thy seed be called” and again “the children of the promise are counted for the seed”. From Isaac we find Jacob and Esau; it would be Jacob through whom the promise would flow. Out of this would come Israel and out of Israel the Messiach did come.
In Isaac thy Seed shall be called! (7) Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. (8) That is, they which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. (9) For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son. (10) And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac;
Rom 9:7-10 | Seed of Abraham | Eden From the East
As Adam and Eve fled the Garden, they did so through the east gate of the Garden, or the east of the Garden. It was a section where man was drove out or the Gate on the east side of the Garden of Eden, Yahweh places Cherubim’s and a flaming sword that turned every which way. No way to enter again. Glory and grace, provision and peace all seemed lost. Everything was different. They had coats of skins and were clothed. The skill set was gardening for Adam and Eve, but now they would become keepers of flocks. Bloodshed, sin, violence would become known in their world. The Cherubim’s placed on the East of the Garden signifies the place where God dwells, for we find the Cherubim as beings that are associated as being around the glory of God, the throne of God. They were the ones in his presence, always. Now they stood guard to keep man away from God.
Out of the Garden of Eden So, he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubim’s, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life. Adam and Eve 20 And Adam called his wife’s name Eve, because she was the mother of all living. 21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins and clothed them.
Gen 3:24; Gen 3:20-21 | Eden From the East
Adam had seen the glory of God, the provision of his maker every day. Yet as he was driven out of the garden, he looked back at the eastern gate of the Garden and saw this glory disappear behind the flaming sword and the Cherubim’s who stood guard. That was the last look of the glory of God by man for millennia.
Today, no one knows where Eden really lay or if the Eden Adam was in still remains. Did the LORD God remove it, making it impossible for man to return? Is it there, but hidden from man? ISBE’s has listed four main areas where people have surmised Eden to be. For this article, we will not delve into detail, as you can further your study in that regard. The first area is in Central Asia, From the Himalayas east to the Pamir, which is referred to as the “roof of the world.” The Second area speaks to the work by Dr. William F. Warren which says that Eden was at the North Pole. The theory is based on the abundant remains of fossil plants found in geological records. These showed the existence of that in pre-glacial times a warm climate surrounds the North Pole in all the lands which have been explored. But due to more recent discoveries that showed that there was no land near the North Pole, in fact hundreds of miles away, his theory would have to be updated to place Eden away from the North Pole. Another location is in Armenia, a section of land that surrounds Mt. Ararat. This region today has a boundary with Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Iran, and Nagorno-Karabakh [an unrecognized republic in the Caucasus, officially part of Azerbaijan]. This area is called the ‘cradle of civilization.’
Finally, we come to two areas in Iraq. The first is near the head of the Persian Gulf, in Southern Iraq where the Tigris and Euphrates after their junction form the Shatt el ‘Arab. One city you may recognize here in this area is Bosra, from the Gulf war and Saddam Hussein. The second site for Eden in Iraq is an area just above the site of ancient Babylon where the Tigris and Euphrates approach within a short distance of each other. The truth is, man really does not know where the Garden of Eden is, but there are many candidates to choose from. In this search you will find legends, history, scientists, archeologists, local beliefs, and religious points of view all matter here.
Moving forward from the Garden we find many interesting points here to consider. But for time and effort to just pinpoint one of those points, let us consider the East Gate, i.e. the East side of the Garden of Eden. It was from the East Gate that the Glory of God would be seen, as the Cherubim’s stood there and the flaming sword blocked the way from man. But before that time of sin, the glory would pour forth from there. Also, Adams last look of Glory was at the East Gate, i.e. again the East side of the Garden of Eden.
Here we find in reference to the East, that in the Tabernacle, the gate by which the congregation entered was here [Exo 27:13-16; Num 4:26]. In the Tabernacle we find that God had made provision for Israel to Meet and know their God. It was through a system of ordinances and sacrifices but suffice to say; to get into the Tabernacle where the LORD would meet with them [their High Priest] was through the Eastern Gate of the Tabernacle.
Eze_11:23 Glory of the LORD And the glory of the LORD went up from the midst of the city and stood upon the mountain which is on the east side of the city.
In Ezekiel we find the “glory of the LORD went up from the midst of the city [Jerusalem] and stood upon the mountain which is on the east side of the city”. In addition, we find in the descriptions of Ezekiel’s temple a “gate that looked toward the east”. The scripture says, “the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east”, later prophesied by Yeshua, Jesus himself in Matt 24:17 which we will discuss later. It is also described here that the earth shined with his glory, which also is written in Hebrews 2:14 “For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.” You just cannot separate the fact of the glory of God and the east gate, the east side, or the east side of the Garden of Eden. It was again from that place that the Glory and presence of God was cut off from man because of sin and it will be again from the east that the final and full redemption of man will be viewed. The saints and all the earth will see the glory of God from the East as a climax to the end of the redemptive road and the plan of God. It will be the completion of prophecy as we know it, but a new chapter will open up, that is of Man again dwelling with God and being in his presence.
God of Israel Way of the East Afterward he brought me to the gate, even the gate that looked toward the east: (2) And behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and his voice was like a noise of many waters: and the earth shined with his glory. (3) And it was according to the appearance of the vision which I saw, even according to the vision that I saw when I came to destroy the city: and the visions were like the vision that I saw by the river Chebar; and I fell upon my face. (4) And the glory of the LORD came into the house by the way of the gate whose prospect is toward the east.
Eze 43:1-4 | East Gate | Eden From the East
In this section out of Ezekiel we find him watching as “waters issued out from under the threshold of the house eastward”. This house is the temple, and the front of the house stood facing east and they poured from the right side at the south side of the altar. Out of the altar poured forth this water. The water would get deep, and they would flow towards the east and go into the desert and out into the sea. This is during the millennial reign when the “Greater son of David” is on his Throne, Yeshua who will rule on this earth for a thousand years and we will reign with him. But these waters will heal the waters, those in them, and whatever it touches; all will be healed. This will be the revitalization project for this earth during the millennial reign. Then the earth and the heavens will be made new.
Temple front stood Eastward 1 Afterward he brought me again unto the door of the house; and behold, waters issued out from under the threshold of the house eastward: for the forefront of the house stood toward the east, and the waters came down from under from the right side of the house, at the south side of the altar. 2 Then brought he me out of the way of the gate northward and led me about the way without unto the utter gate by the way that looked eastward; and behold, there ran out waters on the right side. 3 And when the man that had the line in his hand went forth eastward, he measured a thousand cubits, and he brought me through the waters; the waters were to the ankles.
The East country, Healed and Alive (8) Then said he unto me, These waters issue out toward the east country, and go down into the desert, and go into the sea: which being brought forth into the sea, the waters shall be healed. (9) And it shall come to pass, that everything that liveth, which moveth, whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they shall be healed; and everything shall live whither the river cometh.
Eze 47:1-9 | Eze 47:8-9 | Eden From the East
Now we come to Herod’s Temple, the court of the Gentiles, which was so named because it was open to everyone. It was here that buying and selling took place which was described in the gospels in Matthew 21:12 and John 2:13. It was in Solomon’s porch on the East side of Herod’s temple that Jesus walked, the lame man was healed, and the disciples were brought out of prison and told to go stand in the court and preach. (Joh_10:23; Act_3:11; Act_5:19). On the east side of Herod’s temple, in Solomon’s porch it was Jesus who walked and was surrounded by Jews who wanted him to tell them plainly if he was the Messiah, the Christ, the anointed one. He replied, “I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me.” It was here that the Jews met the Son of God, and his light shone forth. It was the Incarnate Christ who brought again God’s glory and redemptive plan to his own, his own received him not; but to as many as did receive him, to them gave he the power to become the sons of God [John 1].
Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon’s porch 23 And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon’s porch. 24 Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, how long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly. 25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me. Joh 10:23-25
Again, on the east side of Herod’s temple, we see God’s glory manifest in the healing of the lame man at the gate beautiful. Peter and John saw the man who asked for alms. Peter said, “silver and gold have I none; but such as I have given I thee: in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.” We continue to see that God sending Adam and Eve out by the East side of the Garden of Eden was a look into the future. For it would be from the East that God’s glory would be seen by man who was lost. Then when fulfilled, the glory of the Lord would then cover the earth.
Solomon Porch, east side Harod’s Temple! (1) Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour. (2) And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple, which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; (3) Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. (4) And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. (5) And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. (6) Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. (7) And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. (8) And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God. (9) And all the people saw him walking and praising God: (10) And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.
Act 3:1-10 Miracles |Eden From the East
God continues his work among the Apostles at Solomon’s porch as many signs, wonders were done among the people. Here again, the East side of Herod’s temple. It was also the place where the Apostles would go after the Angel let them out of prison and told them to go stand in the temple; here the same place they had been preaching Solomon’s porch. We find the Seed of woman flowing through the scarlet thread of redemption to Christ, the Son of David, of the Tribe of Judah. It was then through those who had believed on his name, the Apostles who then saw God’s glory manifested before their eyes. This was done to reveal to sinful men and women that there was hope, a way of deliverance, and a true Lord and God who loved them.
In One Accord in Solomon’s Porch! (12) And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch. (13) And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them. (14) And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.) (15) Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them. (16) There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed everyone.
Act 5:12-16 | Miraculous |Eden From the East
But the clincher here is that the Lord himself told us that “as lightning comes out of the east” and will shine “even unto the west”, so “shall the coming of the Son of man be.” It would be that one, of the seed of the Woman, who triumphed openly over all principalities and powers; and this means the devil as well; will come from the east. His glory will shine from where it comes from the east to the west; in all the earth and the tribes of the earth shall mourn at his presence. But those who love him shall be with him and love him. It would be that although Adam and Eve lost their last glimpse of God and his glory looking at the East Gate; so, man will again see to the east, the glimpse of God and his glory in the Son of man, the Word of God, the Alpha and Omega who will come from the east.
Coming of the Son of Man as the lightning comes out of the east and shines to the west. (24) For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. (25) Behold, I have told you before. (26) Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. (27) For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Mat 24:24-27 | Eden From the East
In conclusion we find the final and full completion of all God had planned to do and accomplish. It is here in Revelation chapter twenty-one. We went from the Garden of God, the Paradise, Eden, and the Garden of Eden to this final chapter. Adam and Eve, who knew the presence and glory of God, with all its peace, tranquility, joy; provision, life, and abundance and then they went to separation and were cast out. Now we find that there will no more man-made temples, no more man-made doctrines, denominations, rules of men, traditions of men, nor anything of the flesh.
The former life has passed and now we find that the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb is now the temple within New Jerusalem. There is no sun or moon to shine upon the city, for the glory of God lightens it and the Lamb is the light thereof. In the midst of the city of Zion, New Jerusalem, we find the nations of them that are saved. They are walking in the light of it. The light of their God and the glory of their Savior and Messiah do light the entirety of the city. There is no darkness, nothing that defiles, no abomination, no lie; but only those written in the Lamb’s book of life!
Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the Temple (22) And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. (23) And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. (24) And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. (25) And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. (26) And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it. (27) And there shall in no wise enter into it anything that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

I have read this book thoroughly, and it is quite a page turner. The author, Dana Glenn Smith, wrote The Rising before all the riots erupted across America. He doesn't have a crystal ball, but he relies on the input provided by our Lord. Some folks will ask if it is possible for treasonous forces inside America to be actively trying to bring America down. The forces of the evil darkness will do whatever it takes, to satisfy their dark lord. Pick up The Rising, you'll be glad that you did.

5.0 out of 5 stars Have faith. Reviewed in the United States on August 20, 2018
This book kept me on the edge of my seat, I had a hard time putting this book down. It has a few surprises along the way. I have to say there are a few characters that are my favorite, the Uncle, Tiger, the Uncle's best friend, the Pastor and his wife and the relative of the Uncle. Steel the Darkness is an enjoyable read and leaves the ending wide open for another one. The Col is an evil man, one that seems to be out for only one thing, The destruction of human souls. Will he prevail or will the faith of the People fighting against the darkness win?

Eden From the East
The End of Eden from the East, however it is also the total fulfillment of our Hope in the Coming and the establishment of the Kingdom of our God and the Lamb of God Jesus Christ, Yeshua HaMassiach.
