Faith Life Journey

Faith Life Journey: yes, that is correct. A Journey and for many there are things they face which interact with the Faith of a person. While there are tons of books, teachings, and sermons on Faith; this is not one of them. I am not about to teach how to have Faith to do miracles, signs, and wonders. If you follow the basics of faith drawing nigh to your Savior; the rest will follow. Having said that be sure that Faith in coming to God is the absolute only way to know our God and Father. You cannot come to the Father without His Son Jesus Christ. Take this Faith Life Journey and read this article. Included is one paramount decision I made a long time ago to do. Can you guess what that was? Read this important article on the Journey all people must take.

Faith Life Journey

The verse below is a pinpoint on the compass of faith. Matter of fact it points us to God. Just as the North Star is viewed by many as true North and a point to follow so they won’t get lost, this verse is True God. It points us to the Lord God.  It is a point in our bottom-line faith. It is a stone in the wall of belief. Just like Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of the building; a building where the builders in fact rejected this cornerstone, this Faith pinpoint tells us directly what to do.

It tells us that “without faith” we cannot please God, in fact “it is impossible” to do so. It tells us all our maneuverings, ideas, vain attempts to explain God, or even to replace him will never please this God. If you want to please him the first step is to come to him. That is “he that cometh to God” must first believe that he is. You must get out of the chair of plain humanistic endeavor and look beyond yourself and your own understanding.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Heb 11:6 KJV | Faith Life Journey

The first rule or step to come to God can only occur if you will believe. Belief is not a hard word. In the above scripture it is pisteuo [pist-yoo’-o]. Simply meaning “to have faith in, upon, or with respect to a person or a thing”. But it goes beyond the simple idea to an action. I can see a bridge over a large canyon and say, that is a bridge, and it will take me to the other side.

But just looking at it doesn’t imply I really believe what I see or even say. I must walk over to the bridge, walk on it to the other side. If I get on it and it crumbles under my weight, then it was not a bridge; it just looked like one. A bridge takes you from one place to another, i.e. from one side of a ravine to the other side and it does it safely. So, it is with our belief in God through Christ Jesus, we must come to him, put our belief into an action that is viable.

With this word pisteuo we are to have faith in, upon, and with respect to God which is the main example I am using here. It also carries with it the idea of “to entrust”. This ‘entrust’ is regarding Jesus Christ the Son of God and to His Father. Here we entrust, commit, or put our trust [faith] in him. We approach the Father and our God because the Lord has made a way for us to come to him. In Hebrews 11:6 we find that in this Faith it means that “we must believe that he is”, here that he is God, He is our Father, and the Father of the only begotten Son of God; Jesus Christ [Yeshua]. This is the first step in this word believe. To believe, to accept, and to know deeply although you have never seen him personally; that he exists.

You cannot come to anyone, know anyone, or experience anything if you do not believe they exist. An atheist, an agnostic, an unbeliever, or someone who will not believe in our God and Father cannot know him through any other means but by faith. They will only experience doubt, fear, and trepidation over their experience; then they move into full blown denial pushed by pride.

However, all men and women who have lived will one day believe there is a God, for they will stand before him on the Great Day of Judgment.  You cannot buy your way in, use science, use technology, or any other means to know him. You can see the stars and the handiwork of God and say there is a God. But you cannot know him any other way but by faith. You cannot please him. If you do not, please him, then you cannot come to him expecting his favor.

Next you must believe that not only he exists but as you come to him, he will reward you. You may say that you don’t need to believe he will reward you. But I say this is nonsense. Humans do nothing without something they expect. Babies look to their mothers because these babies know Mom loves them, feeds them, comforts them, and nurtures them. Adults are the same way.

Christians can deny this all they want but they do not even know themselves. As Christians we come to the Father in prayer because we desire this relationship, this friendship, this hope of eternal life, this gift of mercy and forgiveness. We come; we desire to know the Father through Jesus Christ. As we do come to the Lord, he rewards us and shows us that by his love, guidance, and provision.

But faith is not just about coming to God and getting something. It is also about walking a path of obedience for the Lord. We become his disciples, we take up our cross and follow him, we know the world rejected him; it will reject us as well. We come, we accept, we believe, we follow, and he is with us every step of the way.

You do not need to do anything else! I have seen this before; people getting all worked up to create a miracle, to get something from God, or change something they want done. Books fly off the shelves with magic formulas to obtain miracles, to get rich, to be that stalwart faith example that all come to hear.

Now you can accept this or reject this what I am telling you. But I can tell you that dreams, visions, secret prophecies, and all knowledge is not what faith is about. It is about simple, untouchable, unchangeable faith. It is neither hard nor difficult. What is hard and difficult is what faith will lead you through. That is where discipleship takes you. It is a narrowing of a path.

Meanwhile let me also say there are three issues in your life that will determine your challenges regarding faith. These challenges encompass the life of an individual. What I speak of are Genetics, Lifestyle, and the Choices you personally make.  Note here, Faith is the main issue that will primarily determine your life. In your walk of faith, the other three will be there in your face all the time.

John fifteen is about abiding in Jesus who is the vine, and we are the branches. Once we have believed that there is a God, and he sent his Son to die on the cross for our sins; then there is the road we must walk. Again, it is lined with our Genetics [physical, emotional, and spiritual] makeup, our Lifestyle which is filled with our choices we have made or will make whether they are good ones or not.

These three Genetics, Lifestyle, and Choices are common to all people everywhere. You do not choose who your parents are, you do not choose what city or town or state or country you were born in. You do not choose even what church to go to or not to go to. In fact, you are subject to all these things, and they make up who you are. Being a Christian in Saudi Arabia is different than being one in Iran. Being a Christian in North Korea is different than being one in America. Christianity and how people live it out is different depending on where you live, what your culture is, and what you have faced. However, simple Faith in the beginning is believing as we stated above. It is common to all Christians no matter where you live.

What is the same is the Faith we all have. In whom we have placed our faith. Finally, what we are willing to do to be able to keep our Faith and our commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ. All of this is direct discipleship. In short it is what Jesus is talking about, abiding in him. His Words, his redemption, and his hand of mercy that stretches out to all people, in all lands, in all languages, for all time. He is cross-cultural, cross continental, and crossed the sin barrier by dying on the cross for our sins. Sin and separation from God are all encompassing. All people in all nations since the dawn of man have experienced this. Today by faith we can all come to the Lord, have faith, and abide in Him.

To abide [meno, men’-o] means to stay. To stay at a given place, state, relation, or expectancy. To continue to be found in Christ Jesus. To dwell in Him. To endure whatever comes and still be ever present in Him, following his words and seeking his Face. It means that whatever culture, nation, state, or situation we find ourselves in, we are to remain in Jesus Christ. To stand for Jesus Christ and finally to tarry; to wait on Him until we get the answer or solution to our problem.  He is our eternal Hope, but he is our ever-present help and deliverer. As the Apostle Paul said, “having done all to stand, stand therefore”! Paul gives us this word in connection with the Armor of God to which he tells us to take up. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty to the pulling down of strongholds.

But also, there are the Choices you and I have made in Life. These many times are irreversible and cannot be changed. You live with the consequences! You live with the thoughts of how stupid or smart you have been. If only I had not done that you think to yourself. Perhaps you congratulate yourself on how quick witted and smart you were. But in life there is not anyone who has ever gone through it without making a bad choice or decision. I also do not believe people are making all bad decisions, in fact; many people are smart. They have lived their life with good smart decisions. Yet these may never come to know Jesus Christ personally as their savior. In Christ you can find forgiveness and the power to deal with your past and that condemnation the devil uses against you.

We may look for an easy, abundant, and prosperous life. Yet there are many people in various places of hardship, persecution, famine, abuse, sex trafficking, and other agonizing troubles. Christ Jesus died for all of us! No matter the Genetics, Lifestyle, or Choices we have made; there is a place today to find hope, healing, and health. There is redemption and eternal life through Christ Jesus. With our Lord, Hope is ever present as is deliverance!

And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;  (19)  To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.  (20)  Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.  (21)  For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

2Co 5:18-21

It is our duty as the Ambassadors of Christ Jesus our Savior and our God and Father to bring this to all people everywhere. When we come to our God and Father through Jesus Christ, we come believing. In prayer we bring petitions for those who need help, for ourselves, and loved ones. We seek him knowing that he exists. We have his Word promising that he will help us with these needs and bring deliverance. He will as he says, “reward those who diligently seek him Hebrews 11:6 KJV”!

There is only one thing that will prevent you, stop you, and send you into perdition. That is your own unbelief and refusal to believe these things. Unbelief is fueled by fear, propelled by doubt, and held captive by pride. See that you do not do this! Walk in Belief. Walk in Faith and do not fear! Don’t let it take the reins of your faith and fill it with doubt.
