Faith Words Spring of Life

Faith Words come from a Spring of life, everlasting water. Faith words do not come from a dry well. Faith Words, “Dig your well, and again I say dig your well.  Let it not be a dry hole, but a well full of water unto everlasting life”. My friends this article is not about polishing your faith for obtaining cars, houses, money, debt relief, or another related item. This is about that faith which will save your life.

Faith Words Spring of Life

We hear a lot about words of faith. Faith is a big topic, especially here in America. Books on faith sell, faith movies are popular, and in the pulpit faith messages are delivered to an ever-eager audience. That is, if the faith that is being preached is for a purpose that many consider worth hearing. Of course, the worthiness of such messages is in the hearts of those listening. Whether they have actual ears to hear what the Spirit is saying at those times, well that is another story. If I preach on using Faith to get through everyday life in America, that would be popular. For in America, we don’t face death in our daily lives, usually, that is.  Many do face illness and disease, accidents of all kinds, and even murder.  But for the most part when faith is discussed it is usually pointed in the direction of faith to acquire.

Of course, many would say that is what faith is for, to acquire. To find the Lord our God and to use our faith, believing that he will deliver those things you need. This is faith to many.  We use God as a store clerk. When we need something, we go to him, leaning on heavens shelf and saying “Lord, we need this or that.” The word of faith preachers has it down and in many cases, we can see their meetings filled to the rafters with eager listeners who are seeing how to use faith and giving to have.

Faith Words Spring of Life

But my friends this article is not about polishing your faith for obtaining cars, houses, money, debt relief, or another related item. This is about that faith which will save your life.  Now it could be said do any of our American preachers and teachers really know about faith? Good question! If we measured faith by how many are on a ministry mailing list, that would be one way.  There would be many who could qualify as faith ministries.  When I consider what faith is or who knows about faith, I do not look to the current swath of “friendship with the world faith preachers.”  I have had it to the proverbial rafters with the American faith and their so-called discipleship programs.   Whether we like it or not, most churches, leaders, and Christian’s today are world friendly. They have been initiated into and have been adopted into the Sugar Plum faith of the Americanized Christian ideal.  This is that area where America’s believers live in God provided gingerbread houses in their forests of plenty. It is an ideal where our Father stands at the ready to hoist up to those who ask anything and everything they want.  We have been taught the promises. In this we cling to them, preach them, memorize them, and pray them before God repeatedly. As if he is hard of hearing, for we want to make sure he knows our list. We don’t want him forgetting anything.  Yes, we can certainly do the promises, but the rest of God’s word, including his commandments, well we can’t touch them. We take those things we like and spit out the rest. Much of this is due to the American idea of theology in the church today. Nevertheless, if you are still here reading this and not mad, then maybe you can understand what this article is saying.

From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

(Jas 4:1-3) | Faith Words Spring of Life

Many today and I mean churches and their entire congregations do not touch the prophecy of the end times. They don’t teach it, consider it, nor are preparing for what comes. Now this is up to them. For many of these churches I cannot go near them. Their doctrines are poison as is their consideration of truly walking in the commandments of the Lord.  Yet I know many believers, Christians let’s call them who attend these churches. They do have faith, they believe in the Lord, yet the faith of which I speak is something akin to another era for many.

James speaks directly to the issue of what affects and infects America’s Christians today.  It is the fact that many are too friendly with the world. In fact, James calls these people ‘Adulterers and Adulteresses’. That’s right, if you’re too friendly, loving this ole America, and all she is, then your friendship with the world system is enmity with God.  That is, it is in direct opposition to God and is hostile to God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. Any Christian who is in such a friendly state with the world is in fact an adulterer or adulteress before God and to God.

Further John speaks to this issue as well saying if any man or woman here, “love the world”, then the love of the Father is not in him! It is the lust of flesh, lust of the eyes, and the pride of life that is what is in the world.  Now, let me say this, if you want faith that will deliver and save, that kind of faith cannot come out of a dry well.  Christians who love the world, who are friendly with the world are tapping into this dry well. When the heat is turned up and judgment falls upon the church, many will find themselves with a faith that is tapping into a dry well that cannot quench and refresh the soul, let alone the spirit.  It cannot save, cannot deliver, and will in fact bring judgment upon that person.  When push comes to shove, when you need help, faith to deliver, and a true touch of the Lord, a dry well will not suffice. Dry wells cannot push to the thirsty soul anything of a true God nature.

Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

(Jas 4:4) (1Jn 2:15-16) | Faith Words Spring of Life

Both statements reflect that within the believer, there is a well. Out of that well, flow rivers of living water. Springs that will pour forth everlasting life. That is because of the source. The source for these wells is the Father, even our God and our Savior Jesus Christ. It is to the believer who is given this well of life.  There can be only one source. You cannot feed your soul bitter water and sweet and still have saving faith, mountain moving faith, or faith that will allow you to give your testimony.  If you tap into the worldly source that most Christians in America feed off, there will be a stagnant, putrid, and repulsive odor. It is a stench.

Now today, we in America are great at making excuses, providing doctrines, and ignoring God’s word on the matter. We excuse our way out of God’s grace and faith. We walk into trouble as we try to marry the world, love its idols, and forget the discipleship of Jesus Christ. We try to plow the rows straight while we look back at the world. Then when we survey the field, we have just plowed we are surprised the rows are not straight and well plowed. No man looking back from the plow is fit for the kingdom of God.

On the last day of the feast our Lord stood up and said “If any man thirst let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” This he said, speaking of the Holy Ghost which should be given to them who believe on him. Further to the woman at the well he said this “Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.”

John 7:37-38; John 4:13-14 KJV

This was the message to the Laodicean church; the Lord warned them he would spit them out of his mouth if they did not take his advice. That advice was simple, “to buy of me Gold tried in fire.”  He told them to repent, but in this repentance, there was still the “gold tried in fire” they would have to go through. It is not as if they would repent and be spared this. No, it was this. Your lukewarm, the fire of persecution is coming. When it comes you have a choice to repent and be saved or continue in your ways and be spewed out.

But the fact of the matter is, if you truly served the Lord and walk in his ways, persecution comes anyway. For us today, the snare is already here. The trouble that is to come upon the world and the nations has arrived. Howbeit, it is not in full force yet.  So, the time is now. Repent today, seek the Lord, and get your roots deep down in the sweet, nourishing, fulfilling waters of life through Jesus Christ today. That well is deep and nourishing, but only the true disciples of the Lord find this. Many others fool themselves.

I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness does not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten be zealous therefore, and repent.

(Rev 3:18-19)

The truth is you should want this water of life. You should not be finding love in the world. Your’s is to love the Lord with all your heart, mind, and soul and to keep his commandments [read John 15].  It is time.  Dig deep my friends. Let your spirit go deep into the well of the Lord. I remember well the words of Corrie Ten Boom. She was a Dutch survivor of Nazi Germany prison camps. These are the same camps that so many Jews lost their lives and many others as well. Included in this was Corrie’s family. The words she spoke were this, “there is no pit that is so deep, that God is not deeper still.”

One day Corrie’s life was usual, and her family was doing their routine. Then Hitler made war, her nation was overrun. In the end the family died, and she alone survived.  How do you think she made it? How could she talk about a pit as this unless she was in that pit? Sometime during the Nazi concentration camp experience her sister died. She was alone, now. The pit was there, and Corrie was at the bottom.  She could not climb out, nor dig her way out of it. She was there, lost, alone, and without hope. Oh, yes, then in that despair, loneliness, and tears, a glimmer arose out of her heart. For Corrie had dug her well deep in the Lord. So, as she faced the pit, the Lord was there. He had been there all along. How could she climb out? How could she stand it now? How did she make it?

Simple, there was no human way. There was no logical way. There was not one human soul at that time that could do a thing. The devil had her. Or so he thought. Long before the Allies arrived at her prison camp and set them all free, the Lord had already set Corrie free. Free from fear and a heart full of love and a Lord who was closer than a brother.  She was safe, free, and delivered, and then the Allies showed up to set her body free from that camp and to kill her captors.

Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

(Jas 3:9-11; 17-18)

In Corrie’s situation having the word of God was out. Although it is not unheard of to have or be able to find a bible or portion of scripture, you cannot depend on having it. The devil knows Christians love the Word of God or should, so that is one of the things he will take from you is that, if he can. Corrie and other believers who have found themselves in such situations are able to reach down into the reserves. Now at the time they may be faint, and in their own strength cannot go on. But, if we have dug our wells deep enough in the Lord, then his deliverance will come. One way or another, he will be with us.

In Corrie’s case we can say of her and others like her “They have read the bible, they have prayed, sought the Lord and they know the Word of God.”  Now they have already done this. It was part of their life in the Lord.  Now that they are in this pit, they can then allow the everlasting waters to spew up from the depths of their souls. This water can then refresh them, empowering them, filling them with faith. Survive ability, faith ability, and sustain ability all come to the forefront in Jesus’ name.  The question to ask yourself is this. Do I have this well dug deep? Am I rooted and grounded in the Lord?

My friends, in yourself you cannot do this. That is why, while it is still day [before the night when no man works] seek the Lord. Fast, pray, read, and digest his word. Keep it in your heart, hidden. In all this know that the Lord was there before any of us. With his Word, His Spirit, and our Lord, we shall make it. For we have dug our wells into the everlasting water of life. We have refused the dry well and sought him who is the true water unto life eternal, blessed be his name.

He said:

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

(Joh 14:26-27; Joh 16:33)
