Churches Could Talk, if it were true what would they say? The Lord said in Luke chapter 19 and verse forty “I tell that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.” In Numbers chapter twenty-two and verse 28 the LORD “opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam…” In this I have written a satirical, poetical, Article to reveal a point. So if Churches Could Talk, what else might they do? The main characters are the Church building, those who want to destroy the building, and the Pastor. Stay with me here, take a short journey into that land of America where at last, a Church stood up to give testimony. Below find the story of “If Churches Could Talk?”

IF CHURCHES COULD TALK?
A young man burst from the group. He had a torch in his hands and joined by a group of his rioting friends came to this old church. It was featured in the Historical society register. A wonderful thing to burn to show the world they were serious. As he approached the church fire in hand, his buddies ran in front to break windows so they could torch it. Suddenly, the foundations shuddered, the building shook and the group stood back. Then in one gigantic effort, the church rose.
The group looked on.
Eyes appeared on the front of building with a mouth that began to speak. Then arms sprouted out like branches of an aged tree and as a voice rang out, the arms motioned as well.
“Why do you want to burn me?” the old church asked.
“Because you represent everything evil and that which we hate?” The torch bearer replied.
Because of this, in similes do I speak to them, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor understand.

“That is sad. I have stood here for over 250 years, back to the founding. I have sheltered humans inside from the cold in the dead of winter. I have cooled worshippers during the sweltering heat of summer. I have heard the children and adults worshipping and singing praises to the Lord God our Father and to His Son Jesus Christ. Do you know how heart warming and beautiful it is to hear such things?” The old church stopped and stared at the group.
They were dumbfounded. “We didn’t know.”
“Well you do now. I have stood, weathered as I am faithfully for those who need help and hope during crisis. I have been here for the funerals, mourning, and gatherings of fellowship. I have stood to see that the preacher preached the pure Word of God. I have been here during crying, wailing, and repentance of these humans God loves. Yet, you who know nothing come today in hate to destroy me and all those memories to which I was a witness too.”
“We do at that and we will burn you and rejoice over your ashes.”
“That is sadder. For I have stood for the generations that followed all those of faith and have passed on to glory. I stand here for you. I refuse no one, I accept all, and I forgive all. Burn me if you will, but those who built me we also see that I will be resurrected as well to live another 250 years.”
The group laughed as they headed to the church. The gang began breaking windows. Just as the torch bearer began to throw fire inside the church, an arm grabbed him.
“Not today, you are going to be coming with me.” The startled torch bearer dropped the fire and was wrestled to the ground and cuffed. His partners were surrounded by other law enforcement.
Then the group began to tell them the story that the church had told them.
“You guys on some drug? That is crazy.”
As the police took them away, the torchbearer looked back at the old church.
“Look, the church is smiling; I swear he is smiling.”
Around the corner of the church came an old Pastor and looked up at the building. “Someone else tried to hurt you. One day they will learn, faith is alive and so is our God who sends His angels to surround his people.” The Pastor looked up as he heard “Amen.”
The building smiled and sat down, as the Pastor repeated “Amen to that”!
