Oracle of Damascus – In our continuing series we now come to Damascus and the oracle that Isaiah saw. He was shaken and also was moved at the extreme vision of this judgment. But it is not only Damascus here but Ephraim is in this as well. We find the Glory of Jacob which denotes the Kingdom of Israel in it also. The vision and the subject is prophetic. It is a lesson for today’s modern world, technology or wealth will not alleviate the burden of sins you carry. There is a solution for your sins. Thus the lesson continues in Isaiah.

Oracle of Damascus – Isaiah is one of the most prophetic and metaphoric works in scripture today. Although, a long time ago, we find out that in the nations of men and women; the evil that pulls us from the Lord God has not changed. While the covenant in Isaiah day was from the Sinai covenant and the Abrahamic covenant; there are many things that speak to us. We are in the days of the new covenant and the Spiritual Israel. A calling to Israel of old and a message to the gentiles to come to him; we can find all of it in this book. Behind it is Mercy, Salvation, and the Day of the Lord.

Woe to the multitude of many people, which make a noise like the noise of the seas; and to the rushing of nations, that make a rushing like the rushing of mighty waters! The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters: but God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a rolling thing before the whirlwind. And behold at eveningtide trouble; and before the morning he is not. This is the portion of them that spoil us, and the lot of them that rob us.
