Persistent Faith Perilous Times means survival can be ‘At any cost’. Many families know that such Peril can mean starvation, no home, no place to lay your head, and even death. In America, the good times, free lifestyle, and no such thing as sin clouds the understanding of many. Our technology, social sites, and our lifestyle itself, in many cases, are self-centered. For a nation who needs to be God centered, today the question is why should I? Then there is the question, what God do you mean? The Apostle Paul told us in Ephesians 6:13 to “take unto you the whole Armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day and having done all to stand.” In John Jesus prayed for us to “be kept from the Evil.” No doubt today is an evil time. Being kept from the Evil that may surround you and your family is paramount. Here is more on these Perilous Times.
“A Journey for those who look into the Whirlwind of these Last Days! Bearing the Cross in the War of Ages where Faith is the Victory that overcomes the World.”
“By God’s grace, we endure from faith to faith; day to day and pass by from trouble to endurance to an overcomer!”

Persistent Faith Perilous Times
Persistent Faith Perilous Times are here. In fact, through the ages these two words would describe many different events. Like the Black Plague, the conquests of Alexander the Great and Napoleon; not to forget Adolf Hitler. My grandparents and my dad went through the great depression as did my mom and her parents. It was true that while the nation suffered extremely during the depression, my dad did not know the extent of the event. Our family at that time lived in a region where our family did not face the real horror of the depression. But dirt farmers like my grandfather did. He originally came from Kansas to where we live. Homesteading in our state with Grandmother. They faced tough times, growing the food they ate from produce to chicken, cattle, sheep, eggs, milk, and cream. If they didn’t have it, they made it, grew it, and prepared it. If they couldn’t prepare it from what they had, they went without. Later, technology provided for Phones that were party line’s; Television was one station on a black and white screen.
Times were tough, yet for our families; faith was important. Some family members chose not to follow the Lord, in fact; some didn’t believe. My dirt farmer grandparents were Methodists. While my other side only had a Godly mother who nurtured her children, which numbered three. Only one of them accepted the Lord when grandmother took the three siblings to an Amy Simple McPherson meeting. This was during the Azusa revivals so long ago. That one was my dad. He never could understand why his siblings never accepted the Lord. In later years, my uncle, i.e. Dad’s brother died of alcoholism and his sister; my aunt died of cancer. The blessings of faith through my grandmother passed to my dad. The one tragedy was Grandmother died of breast cancer. Dad recalled losing his mother and the fact that not even the elders of the church who came to pray for her healing saved her from death. After that, Dad never held to divine healing, although he believed in the Lord. I don’t blame him. Yet, it is issues like this that affect us all. My own mother had extensive illnesses and had loads of doctors and meds. Nothing helped really. Although, at times she was better; she ended up dying young. Choices, we all have them. But what you decide today will affect your life and those around you.
I let you know these things with just enough detail to allow you to see the story. Yet, for me it is personal and many things growing up affected me. The most important aspect was the Lord who redeemed me. My Dad and mom were both Christians. They made sure to get me to the Methodist church. I learned the bible stories, about Jesus Christ, and more. Went to Methodist Youth Camp. But in all this, the Lord had to get me out of the church to bring me to the point of a personal relationship with him. They just sprinkled water on infants and told stories. The Preachers never did push the gospel, or a personal relationship. At least as a child I never noticed that, nor when I was a teen.
Persistent Faith Perilous Times finally arrived for me. It was at a time Faith of any kind was devoid. One day during a very rough time in my life and marriage, it happened. I was leaving, period. I drank and was not a nice guy. At times, yes, I was. But on a drive leaving the house, some twenty miles outside of the city along a stretch of road with desert on both sides, I did it. Stopping the truck after a presence entered that cab and spoke to me. I had known religion, but not this. In that cab, I heard a voice calling to me and speaking of repentance. No one was in that cab with me. I was driving some sixty-five miles per hour. I proceeded to stop the truck. Then I got out of the cab. Repenting on my knees, cab door open; cars passing, I confessed my sins and found the Lord Jesus Christ. To this day, I know the place and know why I stopped. I was changed. I was then pointedly told to “go back home.” I did. My wife had already been saved at an Amway convention we had gone to. When I showed back up, she said “I knew you would be back.”
That was an exceptionally long time ago and during the seventies. The change was dramatic for both of us. We weren’t just zealous; it was beyond that. In fact, we were dangerous to cold lukewarm Christians. This got us in trouble over the years, even at bible school. Even at my first Youth Pastorate. For there, on a Sunday morning going up the stairs to the main floor; two board members told me flatly “we don’t want your kind here, take your briefcase full of ideas and zeal and leave!” I was relieved of my position after a vote by the board. To some surprise, me, and my family became stranded. It was I who had moved everything to be there, plus with my family. We were without work, money, or a way to get out. It was devastating. Today it doesn’t bother me. I know that the experience was one that I really was not prepared for, and it took almost 12 years to get over.
Yet for me, it is important to be on the Right side of God. Then there is history. The bible is full of history of people who all faced decisions. Abraham [Genesis 12:2-6] was told to leave his family and go to a land the Lord would prepare for him. Paul records in Hebrews that Abraham went out, “not knowing whither he went. By faith, he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country.”
America for many has been a land of promise, as much so as Israel and the promised land was for the Hebrew people. But today the land of America does not reckon God will judge this nation. Nor do many of its residents and non-residents think it will happen. This land is one of a hedonistic, pleasure seeking, do what you want, at any cost land. Sin is not regarded. We have passed laws to legitimize things the church considered abominations when I was growing up. Here, need I tell you what these are? Well, for example, take the abortions and this societies willingness to kill babies outside the womb. But we do more than have blood guilt on our hands. Just read Romans 1:18-32 or 2nd Timothy 3:1-9 to refresh your memory if you have forgotten. We can be on the right side of history and still fail at being on the right side of God. This is his holiness side. To be sure, John puts it as “walking in the light as he is the light.
This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Persistent Faith Perilous Times – RIGHT SIDE OF GOD AND HISTORY
As followers of Jesus Christ, we should be avoiding the deeds of the flesh, i.e. immoral sensual appetites, and deeds. Yet in this world today, we have many who follow the crowd. Nations of people are seduced by the doctrines, ideas, and ways of their leaders. We find citizens breaking out from the pack of normalcy. Former Muslims, Hindus, and others are coming to the Lord and finding the truth of redemption. There is no mistake here; it is God’s way or hit the proverbial Highway to destruction.
I now address Pastor Wang Yi. In China, Pastor Wang Yi made a choice to follow Christ instead of giving into the atheistic communist doctrines. His big church was destroyed, the congregation was disbanded and faced prison. Despite the consequences, Wang Yi stood up. He wrote a letter and made it plain to both the world and to Chinese communist officials. It didn’t go well, but the Pastor was ready to die rather than give up his faith. Wang Yi was imprisoned in China and last I heard was still in prison. I have no current updates on him, but well do I remember his Christian manifesto. I was challenged, inspired, and we moved to cover his plight on our shows. The communists did not like it. He paid for it dearly, but no doubt he chose which side to stand on.
In North Korea, Christians have been working and doing as the leaders of that country want them to do. Yet, there is an underground church, underground believers, and they also get help. I won’t go into detail, but certain ministries today work with these people who risk their lives to get help to the persecuted church in North Korea.
In America, Churches need to stand against the tide of immorality sweeping our society, schools, and churches. The polluted doctrines of the flesh are taking over the Apostles doctrines that Jesus Christ gave them. Be sure Peter warned of this, as did the other Apostles. All this reminded the believers who they served and how they must walk, which is to walk in the Light of Christ as He walked, doing as he did. Peter warned the early believers of the temporal nature of living in this world.
Persistent Faith Perilous Times finds a true challenge in today’s divided America. The sins of society are evident in the Chao’s, hatred, and radical left wing Marxist propaganda. Any true believer walking in Christ’s light would not be working to do these things that are born and bred from sin, pride, and jealousy. We cannot change many things in the world. We know that society will become worse and worse; even to the point where Pastors will deny the Lord Jesus Christ and change the biblical mandates and doctrines to suit society. If people do things that offend God and won’t listen, then it is their choice. There is a resolute answer to this found in Revelation. The Lord is coming soon, and he will reward all people, including those who choose to do evil, be unjust, and are filthy in God’s sight. It won’t matter what they say, think, or do, unless it includes repentance and a change of heart.
He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. And behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning, and the end, the first and the last.
(Rev 22:11-13) | Persistent Faith Perilous Times
Perilous Times -Here is the choice, to be on the right side of God in these Perilous times. My forebears had their confrontation with evil. Today, we face an evil that is hell bent on destroying not only America; but many who are totally deluded. They are so self-absorbed and driven to this life it could destroy them. Hosea warned that “my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” They rejected what the Lord had told them to do. From the people to the priests and prophets; all forsook these truths that God had given Moses.
Today in the new Covenant, there is still a need to follow the truth as laid out. We have that truth through Jesus Christ. He calls us to follow him, walk in his ways, and to know Him. The Lord also said in John fifteen to “abide in Him.” Further he said we must continue in his love. One of the issue’s he addressed was that, as he said “if ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love.” This is a reminder it is not modern-day church doctrines adjusted to appease society. It is the Lord’s commandments. Period.
Persistent Faith Perilous Times
Reminding you here that we are saved by Grace through Faith. We are to abide in Him, walk in his love, and do what is pleasing in his sight. We do these things because we love him. While the old covenant had the letter of the law and if you breached it you died, today we have the Spirit of the Law. We may sin or do something wrong; but we can ask the Lord to forgive us. Paul warned Galatians 5:16-26 of the deeds of the flesh and of the Spirit. Through Christ we have crucified the flesh with its affections and lusts. Further Paul warns in Galatians 5:21 that “they which do such thing’s shall not inherit the kingdom of God.” The manner you walk, the light you walk in, and the faith you keep is your decision. How you choose to be in these Perilous times and on the right side of God or man is also up to you. God chose to let you decide. But once you do make that decision, there are rewards. Be sure you know what you’re doing!
Finally, to walk in Faith believing is the first step to beginning this. There is a place for believers to rest in Christ Jesus and to have his blessings. It is the point where we are in the world, but not walking in the lust of the flesh and mind. We do as the Lord has revealed to us to do. The law, however, is not our enemy. For the law of faith, brings us into that relationship with the Father through the Son. The atonement also flows out of the law, fulfilling it by providing the atoning blood required by the law of a sacrifice that is perfect. The law tells sinners what is right and wrong. That tells believers that the new covenant is the fulfillment of what had been intended all along. Today, even the most hardened sinner can find Christ, the power to Change, and the blessings of being found in Him. Then there is the relationship to our Father in Heaven. Today there is no reason to not find this blessing. But many will not, for they love darkness more than light.
PERILOUS TIMES -RIGHT SIDE OF GOD AND HISTORY
This is the choice for today’s generations that live around the world. I address this nation called America here. For Americans, the only Savior is Christ Jesus to the glory of the Father. For Americans, the only one to change this nation for good is the Christ of Calvary. For Americans to know this Christ, they must hear. For Americans to hear; someone must let them know. The decision to follow Jesus Christ, however, is personal and up to them. But as the above warning says, “men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. If you do come to the light, your deeds will be exposed and reproved. ” Thank God, though; although the sins are reproved, i.e. shown as evil and exposed for what they are; you can be totally forgiven and find redemption in Christ Jesus. Read John 1, 3, 10-17; 1 John 1, 5; Romans 1-8
In closing I want to remind you of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego who stood on the correct side of God and History records it. Our God can deliver us from any Evil [fiery furnace] from Daniel 3:17. Our God will deliver us out of the hand of Evil [King] from Daniel 3:17. If our God chooses to not deliver us, we will not bow down to Evil [golden image] from Daniel 3:18.
If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

Thanks Watchman…yes, we do live in perilous times. Self absorbed hedonists are the norm in our society (and the world in general). They absolutely refuse to heed the warnings from our Lord. Not even the threat of a contagion can keep them off the beaches, engaging in their drunkeness and whore mongering. As Jesus states in the end of Revelation, He is coming quickly, bringing His reward with Him. Make no mistake, in the end, everyone will get just exactly what they deserve. Our Lord’s peace to you and Tower…Amen.
