The situation of the gospel and the people in the Lord depended on leaders like Timothy who as a good soldier would stand up against these people
Today we see that the warning of Paul has gone full circle into a time that is absolutely beyond the pale of anything we have seen or will see. Yet in America lawlessness knows no end or bounds to it. It is here that today, both Christian leaders, Pastors, Apostles, Prophets, and Teachers along with the church itself must be prepared. It is here that the love of many will wax cold because of the sin and iniquity which will abound.
