Watchman Declares follows our Set the Watchman of last week. That watchman in the tower at Babylon looked out. It is through these eyes that Isaiah see’s what the watchman saw. The prophet alone knows the costs, the reasons, and the victor in this battle. The once fearsome state of Babylon is brought down. In it’s place is the rule of Cyrus and the freeing of the Jews to return home to rebuild. Yet in these prophecies there is depth that reaches to the modern age we live in.

Watchman Declares – Isaiah is one of the most prophetic and metaphoric works in scripture today. Although, a long time ago, we find out that in the nations of men and women; the evil that pulls us from the Lord God has not changed. While the covenant in Isaiah day was from the Sinai covenant and the Abrahamic covenant; there are many things that speak to us. We are in the days of the new covenant and the Spiritual Israel. A calling to Israel of old and a message to the gentiles to come to him; we can find all of it in this book. Behind it is Mercy, Salvation, and the Day of the Lord.

And he saw a chariot with a couple of horsemen, a chariot of asses, and a chariot of camels; and he hearkened diligently with much heed: And he cried, A lion: My lord, I stand continually upon the watchtower in the daytime, and I am set in my ward whole nights: And, behold, here cometh a chariot of men, with a couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he hath broken unto the ground. O my threshing, and the corn of my floor: that which I have heard of the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, have I declared unto you. The burden of Dumah. He calleth to me out of Seir, Watchman, what of the night? Watchman, what of the night? The watchman said, The morning cometh, and also the night: if ye will enquire, enquire ye: return, come.
