As Jesus said “rise, take up thy bed, and walk -latest from the Watchman Dana G Smith, an exhortation and a reminder that in all things; greater is he in you than he that is in the World!
Rise for your Miracle today! It was to a man, impotent, sick, diseased, who lay on his bed by the pool of Siloam. The righteous Pharisees, Sadducees, Priests, and even the High Priest could not heal him. Yet for 38 years he sat as the water became stirred and was unable to get to the water in time for his miracle. You can read about this in John chapter five. People passed him daily, throwing him a bit of money, bread, or some other handout as he sat in his misery. Trying to survive, he tolerated it all!
As Jesus said “rise, take up thy bed, and walk!
The Lord Jesus Reigns Ad–infintum, so allow him to do so in your life, in your miracles, and in your testimony!
Ad-Infintum: Ad infinitum is a Latin phrase meaning “to infinity” or “forevermore”. In context, it usually means “continue forever, without limit”
As Jesus said “rise, take up thy bed, and walk!
Yet, with one encounter with Jesus, this man was made whole. However, he had three commands to get his miracle. He was to Rise! He was to take up his bed which was his whole of earthy possessions. He was then to walk. He did not have to go wash in the pool. He did not need to give Jesus Five thousand dollars as seed money to get healed. He did not have to travel across the Roman empire to a meeting of some famous Man of God to get healed. He was only to get up. A personal contact between this invalid man who by now after 38 years had lost all hope of getting ahead. He had lost hope of being married, having a family, walking into the temple, and to in short be a normal Jew living in the city.
In all this, a man who was sick, incapable of helping himself; found deliverance. Was it just a biblical story? Was it pure nonsense? Well, the fact here is this man as soon as he obeyed Jesus got three things back. He was given three commands and got three things from those commands.
He got immediately healed!
Righteous Pharisees rebuked him because he had indeed taken up his bed as commanded by Jesus. They found fault in him because on a Sabbath day had carried his bed. To them the law was more important than mercy. God loves mercy over the letter of the law. Love fulfills the Law, as the law has no hold on Love and the law in short is fulfilled by the work of love.
This man who was healed met the divine Son of God, the Light of the World!
However, we find that in the three commands he was given; the three things he received from the Lord for his obedience; yet one thing remained.
Jesus warned him to go and sin no more!
Joh 5:5-17
(5) And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
(6) When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
(7) The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
(8) Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
(9) And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.
(10) The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.
(11) He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.
(12) Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?
(13) And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place.
(14) Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
(15) The man departed, and told the Jews that it was Jesus, which had made him whole.
(16) And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day.
(17) But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.
Today living in America, the Lord Jesus Christ is again giving you three commands. Rise, get up off and out of your situation. Everyone lives with trouble and tribulation as these usually will find its way to the door. The same Lord said, “in the world you will have tribulation” but also said “he would never leave you nor forsake you”! The scripture says that “God will not allow you to be tempted above that you are able but will with that temptation make a way to escape”! Rise for your miracle! Get up to get above the situation you find yourself in. You must get up with Jesus Christ, having faith in the Son of God; that in all things he will make a way for you.
Anyone can stay seated, sit and stew in unbelief; forever content on being held captive by their circumstances. Don’t keep doing the same thing. The man above in John five had spent over three decades by a pool waiting for a chance to get into the water for a miracle. He was laughed at by many who stood by him as they only had to walk or run faster than the others to get in first. But for this man who sat so long, in his own troubled situation met hope one day. That Hope was Jesus Christ.
If I know anything today, I know this; one day long ago, beside a road that ran in the desert. I knelt and gave my heart finally and fully to Jesus Christ. I was raised in the church. I like that man alongside the pool of Siloam knew very well of the religious of my day. He knew of the temple, he knew of the law, and he knew of the requirements. Yet none of these freed him! I was in the church and so was my family. But it took the Lord getting me out of the church to find him, to be saved, and to be delivered.
I tell you today, Jesus Christ is coming soon. Your hope is in his healing, his mercy, his love, and his miracle working power which is given to all those who believe and who will receive at his hand the miracle they have so long been waiting for.
Is it not time for your miracle! Then stand up, rise; take up your bed, and walk! Walk in faith, find that purpose, find that deliverance, find that help, but first find the redemption in Jesus Christ today.
The miracles and the deliverances come to those who are found by Christ and are in Christ. The wicked and unbelievers only have the world, its wisdom, its science, and its own version of religious activity.
Rev 3:1-6
(1) And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.
(2) Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.
(3) Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
(4) Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.
(5) He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
(6) He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
As Jesus said “rise, take up thy bed, and walk!
Today the Lord is telling the church as well to rise, take up their beds, and walk! Walk away from religious activity, walk away from religious tradition, walk into the presence of Jesus Christ and the Father. Be alive, have faith, and take your stand today for Jesus Christ and against the evil in this world!
Get up, get moving, and do something for the Lord!
Stop fretting! Stop worrying! Stop being defeated!
Get up! Get your faith moving! Put on a Miracle today!
