We Would See Jesus

We would like to “See Jesus” would be the modern-day way to put it. Right at the time our Lord said, “the hour is come.” Soon the Lord would be glorified, herein speaking of Jesus Christ going to the cross after he suffered many things. All the while the Jews of Jerusalem had pushed the Roman justice system to crucify him. The quest arises why did the Greeks wait so long to see and hear what the Lord had to say. The Greeks must have seen Philip first and knew he was a disciple of the Lord. However, Philip went to Andrew and the both of them went to tell Jesus of the Greeks wanting to see him. I can see the Lord looking straight at the both of them saying “The hour is come.” Didn’t they know this? If they didn’t, Jesus’ answer let them know. The Lords final words on the matter were “that the Son of man should be glorified.”

We Would See Jesus

(20) And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast: (21) The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.  (22)  Philip cometh and telleth Andrew: and again, Andrew and Philip tell Jesus.  (23)  And Jesus answered them, saying, the hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.  (24)  Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.  (25)  He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.  (26)  If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour. Even before the birth of Christ Jesus, the plans for the redemption of mankind was made. Jesus grew up in front of and beside the Jews of Jerusalem.  He lived in Nazareth but was born in Bethlehem which the prophecies foretold of him. The point here is the High Priest, Sanhedrin, and others were conflicted with unbelief due to the fact he was from Nazareth. That location was after the fact of the family fleeing to Egypt after the Lord’s birth in Bethlehem. My question has always been why the well-educated Jews did not know he actually was born according to the prophecies. The Savior of mankind was actually and originally from Bethlehem. Today, “We Would See Jesus” brings us to the plain and simple truth. If the Jews with all their knowledge of scripture missed this simple truth, it is not surprising that many people today are also blinded and cannot see the truth of the True Messiah being Jesus, Yeshua. As well, John the Revelator writes of the Lord in Revelation chapter one. One name he calls the Lord is the “Almighty” in chapter one of Revelation. Then in Revelation 22 we find the Lord being the Judge overall mankind. We Would See Jesus

He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.  (12)  And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.  (13) I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.  (14)  Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.  (15)  For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.  (16)  I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.  (17) And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, “Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.”

Rev 22:11-17 | I come quickly, My reward is with me!

Who Jesus, Yeshua was did not surprise John. The Temple group of scholars and others knew of John, knew him well. John told it like it was. He did not candy coat the Truth’s that the Lord sent him to declare. John did not mince words. Who was Jesus? To John he was the Lamb of God when John was with a couple of disciples he called out “Behold the Lamb of God.” It was during this  when John called out to declare his message that the Lamb of God was among them that we find the event of Jesus and his disciples. Two disciples had heard John call the Lord the Lamb of God. But only one of the two, here we find Andrew who is Simon Peter’s brother. We are not told of the other individual who was walking with John as John cried out about who the Lord was. However, Andrew believed and went to see His brother Simon Peter. It is recorded that Andrew said to his brother Simon “We have found the Messias”. This was the Christ or Messiah to come, Andrew believed it and so did John.

We Would See Jesus

 (35) Again, the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples; (36)  And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!  (37)  And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.  (38)  Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, what seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou?  (39)  He saith unto them, “Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about tenth hour.  (40) One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.  (41)  He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, we have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ. Joh 1:35-41 | Behold the Lamb of God | What seek ye? | We have found the Messias! Of Hebrew origin [H4899]; the Messias (that is, Mashiach), or Christ: – Messias. |

Rome definitely along with Jerusalem were important to the spread of the Gospel. Due to Roman power and influence, as well as governance; it made it possible to spread the gospel. There did come a point in the Roman era when persecution of Christians was terrible. But before that period with the spread of the gospel from Jerusalem was made possible because of the Roman Roads that made travel all over the realm possible. As well, the authority and might of Rome kept it safe to travel. The time was right for the gospel light to go forth through the Apostles and all their converts. However, in time with the fall of Rome we find Pagan armies invading the empire and even pillaging Rome numerous times. It is here that we again find the Greeks who would see Jesus. His fame would have spread through the Roman empire in the time of Jesus Christ. The Greeks are well known, as the Apostle Paul could verify. He witnessed to the Greeks who pursued wisdom. Yet we can say, I believe that these Greeks heard of the healing, miracles, and teachings that Jesus did. These Greeks did not have to come from Greece but in fact could have lived near Jerusalem or even Rome itself. The fact that they arrive too late to see the real Jesus, Yeshua the Messiah is something today people need to understand. The timeline of our Lords coming again approaches. However, the sins, hatred, uncleanness, and pagan gods even today herald a warning for all people. If you’re going to follow Jesus and repent, don’t wait for tomorrow or next week. For if you wait, it may be too late to See Jesus in your life. Those early Greeks are a sign to us today. Do not hesitate for you may be too late. Things happen, circumstances occur, accidents, sickness, and many other events could change your life dramatically. Nothing is more certain than Death. Jesus came to save you. It is appointed unto man, once to die and after this the judgment. Amen.

(5) For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?  (6)  And again, when he bringeth in the first begotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.  (7)  And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.  (8)  But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of thy kingdom.  (9)  Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. Heb 1:5-9 | But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is forever: |

We Would See Jesus |Heb 1:5-9 | But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is forever: |

This is the will of the Father who sent our Lord. Jesus Christ was sent by the Father. Jesus is, was, and always is the Light that shines in the darkness. All those who have believed on our Lord should know, it was the Fathers will that Jesus would lose no one who believes on him. The simple truth may fill volumes of scripture, teachings, and literary works; however the truth is and has been before mankind since the time of Jesus Christ first appearance in Jerusalem so long ago. The will of the father was that “ And this is the will of him that sent me, that everyone which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day”, see quote below. It is the Fathers will to save you, help you, deliver you, and keep you in Jesus Christ. But the responsibility Christians have is active and alive. We live in and through the Lord Jesus Christ who dwells in us by His Spirit. He honors his word and will never leave you or forsake you.  Make sure you also know the finality and the consequences here in all this. For the Lord warns in Revelation the following that the brethren “overcame by the blood of the lamb, the word of their testimony, and they loved not their lives unto the death”-see quote below.

(9) And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.  (10)  And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.  (11)  And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Rev 12:9-11 | They overcame the Devil

(6) And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.  (40)  And this is the will of him that sent me, that everyone which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.  (41)  The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven. Joh 6:39-41 | that everyone which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life. |

Rev 1:7-8 “Behold, he cometh with clouds” |

(7) Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.  (8)  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
